We had to book this on the night itself (arising out of an emergency at another motel) after 8pm, but Louis the owner was very accommodating. The suite was well equipped and comfortable too, in all this is real gem on account of the wonderful hosts and amenities provided.

Our unit had cooking facilities,Hot water, heatpump, nice cozy bed with amazing views of the snow mountains. Marry was very helpful in assisting us. I will surely choose to stay there again.

Lovely hosts, cozy, well designed and well appointed room. Great location for shuttle to Tongariro Alpine Crossing, about 15-20 minutes and very close to Foursquare supermarket and hike equipment rental centre. Overall very, very satisfied!

this is a wonderful place to stay. Great welcome. Offered another room because the host thought a top bunk would be difficult. Fabulous warm lounge. A special gear drying room. Great kitchen . In the reviews June 2023 a woman complained about the signs but some people in hostels and b/ps almost need a death threat to remind them to clean up.

This location feels really remote,it's very quiet with interesting landscape and somewhat eerie. The rooms are fairly basic but do have everything you require. It's great value for money however and an excellent option for those travelling on a limited budget.

The kids loved the Secret room, but as it was so cold with...

The kids loved the Secret room, but as it was so cold with little to no heating, we did not feel we could utelise it as it was freezing. No staff onsite, terrible communication as no answer on phone nor emails returned. Unable to use wood burners, one welded shut and no wood available for second one in dining area. Spa pool out of order, ovens not working properly. Confusion around room we received and the room we actually booked, no bedding. It was freezing!!! Bathrooms were very clean with enough hot water.
