The building is old and beautiful. It's kept clean and well maintained. The room is clean and nice. Views are amazing. The staff is friendly and professional. We had to leave early on our first morning there to catch the train (before the hotel breakfast time). But they cooked breakfast for us earlier. It was so nice of them.

Everything you can expect from them :) very clean and cozy room. Got the check in text instruction with all the essential info before my arrival so it was an easy self check in. Located right in the city centre, walking distance to nearby eateries and pubs. Really liked the bathroom as well as the body wash & shampoo. Recommend if you have the right budget for this property.

We spent six days there and used Dunedin as a base to visit surrounding regions for nature and wildlife experiences. The things that we enjoyed most was the close encounters with sea lions and fur seals at different coastal locations. Unlike Queenstown that we had visited previously, the city was not packed with tourists. It was quieter and less crowded. You will love the place if you are fond of church buildings and their architecture.

Dunedin is a beautiful picturesque city - small enough to get around easily, but has everything you might want - good galleries, theatre, shopping, beautiful landscape, close to nature, friendly people, good restaurants.

I only had a few hours to explore only a few attractions. The Octogon, the statue of Robert Burns, sidewalk plaques about famous resident artists, authors and athletes, great cafes, the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, St. Paul's Cathedral and The Railway Station were what I was able to see in just the few short hours from a single parking place near the Octogon.

One or two days are ideal to visit Dunedin during your travels. Visit Octagon square, visit St. Pauls cathedral and see Writers walk. Have a coffee in one of many coffee shops. Visit train station (have a trip if you have extra day -> worth the money), gallery and nearby park. Baldwin street is nice quick stop to tick one of boxes (world steepest street). Botanical gardens with aviatory and trees/plants from around the world is highly recommended. Visit Otago museum (not only) during rainy day. Short trip to Otago peninsula and visit Norther Royal Albatros colony and seagul nesting ground. If you have time and money, take the tour and combine with boat trip and evening penguin watching. Lots of walks on the hills, along the beach or wharf. Many things to do here.

We would have liked to have got up to the boulder rocks but just ran out of time, did the train trip up the gorge and that was cool, and the castle tour was interesting and informative, such a huge project the owners have taken on over many years to restore to its former glory. We packed a lot in for our one night and two days there.

We were about $200 less in our account when we arrived at the hotel to be able to pay in full the staff were no phased by us paying later. We are used to getting looked at sideways even when paying in full at other places so this was a very memorable moment for us and we will definitely be staying here annually for the Dunedin tattoo expos and any other trips to Dunnaz
