The house is beautiful, warm and very comfortable. There are two bedrooms with double beds, a room with double bunks and a sofa bed in the living room. The layout of the house is so good, and a huge bonus was a lockup garage. The kitchen was extremely well equiped plus there is a laundry with washing machine and dryer. The air-conditioning was very much appreciated as it was freezing, raining and hailing most of the day. Be sure to get supplies along the way as there really isn't any shopping in and around the area, though there are some cafes.

Niagara Ridge Retreat will always be remembered as the place where we first caught the aurora australis (Southern Lights). We rented the accommodation for 3 days 2 nights. Before the trip, we hoped to see the Southern Lights. So imagine the excitement when we actually caught it on the 2nd night/3rd morning of our stay, in the comfort of the accommodation. The location is perfect with amazing views. The weather was a bit chilly during our stay so we did not use the outdoor spa. The rooms are spacious and well heated. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped. This is one of the best accommodations we had stayed. Highly recommend!

Just as it appears in the photos, this is a simply furnished perfect located cabin with lovely walks nearby. Bring food as there's not much to eat nearby. The couple running the place are lovely.

Very cosy cabin with everything you need inside. Couldn't wish for a better place to stay at in the Catlins. It can get a bit cold in the night but a small heater is provided and also heating blankets which are awesome!

The house was comfortable and perfect for three people. The views are superb, one is able to look right down the coast and watch waves breaking on the cliffs in the distance. Being on a hillside in the middle of fields it was supremely peaceful, the only sounds being sheep and birds. The kitchen was very well equipped. The cafe just down the road was excellent.
