Was a lovely location with the beach only a couple minutes walk away and had a restaurant/bar next door. Was very modern and had everything you needed.Host allowed us to park our veichle there earlier which was lovely!

I loved the accommodation from the very beginning. I walked in and immediately felt at home. Everything was very clean, and there were two lovely old armchairs right at the entrance that I really liked. Suzanne is a wonderful host who takes the time for her guests. I really appreciated that. The apartment is also very well-equipped. The shower is perfect, and the bed is heavenly. Walking down to the beach is magical. I was there in the summer evening at sunset, which was fantastic.

The hospitality of the hosts - when we arrived late, their first “concern” was to arrange a meal for us at a nearby restaurant that was already closing. Just an example, the experience was very pleasant, the room perfect (I seriously can’t think of what to improve).

Lovely beach and great facilities beside the beach.

Lovely beach and great facilities beside the beach. Picnic area with tables, bbq and big playground children. A bar and resturant there also which had lovely staff. Really lovely community. Lots of walks around too!

Carters Beach is possibly the safest swimming beach on the South Island's west coast. Well developed coastal reserve with toilet, change and BBQ facilities. Popular local restaurants and only a short distance to the cycle trail, jet-boating, kayaking, bush railway and mining adventures. Westport City is nearby and the locally brewed beers some of the best in New Zealand - try their Pilsener ! Fresh fish and whitebait in season, locally baked pies including game meat options ; venison and pork ! Brilliant history and fantastic coastal features include Cape Foulwind and lighthouse, off shore islands with sea bird nesting, penguins and seals beaches, best visited from nearby Tauranga Bay. Suzanne the owner was so lovely and bent over backwards to...

Suzanne the owner was so lovely and bent over backwards to help us. We had a lot of washg and she was happy for us to use her facilities. She recommended to us a lovely place to have dinner right by beach, but unfortunately was closed that night so went into town. The unit we stayed in was lovely, very tasteful, very comfortable with everything we needed. We wd totally recommend this place to others, and if we are ever in Westport again wd want to stay there. Tony and Charyse, Gisborne.

Carters beach / Westport is a great location for a relaxing...

Carters beach / Westport is a great location for a relaxing escape. If you surf or just like to walk along the beach, I highly recommend this place to you. Seal Coloneys are not far away, and I believe the locals when they say the fishing is superb.

Host was very welcoming, the unit was beautifully furnished, well-eqipped, fresh fruit, kitchen and facilities were clean and useful. Thank uou. Weather wasn't good so didn't explore very much. Great restaurant nearby.

Appreciated the quietness and view of golf course -...

Appreciated the quietness and view of golf course - spaciousness of unit We ate in the town - at a local hotel which was busy - and had our first roast meal since Christmas Day. Friendly and obliging folk at unit and would stay again if travelling there.
