Totally exceptional. We’re on a trip where we’ve stayed in 7 properties. This was the best. Trees and lawns around, longer grass areas to offer contact with nature, lots of birds and birdsong, amenities excellent. Michelle lovely.

I had an amazing stay at Revive on Oakview. The room was cozy, comfortable, and exactly what I wanted. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the breakfast (fresh bagel, fruit, and yogurt) was perfect. I loved spending time on the deck overlooking the pond and relaxing in the hot tubs while listening to the birds. Everything was absolutely perfect — a true 10/10 from me, and I’ll definitely be back.

Pleasant and friendly country city with easy access and roads. Quality shopping and food outlets. Close to rivers, lake and mountains and handy on why to Dunedin. Two very interesting museum - aviation and old world. The park gardens are superb for walks and picnic.

We were surprised that Ashburton had the variety of shops,...

We were surprised that Ashburton had the variety of shops, with the normal nationwide big box type outlets, but to my wife's delight was also well served by boutique local outlets, that seemed to be well supported by the locals. It was also notable to see that most of the Banks were located back from the main shopping areas, this shows that retailers are able to afford the prime positions and means a healthy town center.

Ashburton is roughly half way between the top and bottom of the South Island, so is a good place to stay if you are driving between the top and bottom of the South Island. Much easier and safer than trying to drive the length of the island in one day.

Love Ashburton. A wonderful place to visit.

Love Ashburton. A wonderful place to visit. Go to the Library, get a Latte from the Cafe there, and a Cheese Roll, go to the Art Gallery, Domain Park, Retro stores, local shops, Antique Store and amazinf clothing stores, Basilica, Coronation Park Accomodation was wonderful, all the locals were lovely, Street Art! Custard Square from Couplands, so many lovely places to eat. Will have to return to spend more time there.

Ashburton is a rural town on State Highway 1 which is often overlooked as a place to stay. However the Southern Alps are half an hour away, there is the Ashburton river, and the coast nearby. This is a peaceful town.

We liked the convenience of having a cabin where we didn't...

We liked the convenience of having a cabin where we didn't need to bring anything. The pond was really lovely and we enjoyed feeding the ducks (poohs were a bit smelly and sticky though) and playing on the playground. It was a long way out of town though. Going to the toilet in the night was dark and uncovered and the door in the cabin was very noisy and hard to shut.

This was our second time back and will be back again regularly.10/10 Can't fault anything. The room was absolutely spotless. We have stayed in a lot of different motels in Ashburton and this is by far the best.The staff went over and above to make sure our stay was a pleasant one. Also family orientated which we love because we had a surprise visit from our grandchildren one being a new born. We can't speak highly enough of this motel.

It was a great location situated just outside of Ashburton. It’s a divine cottage that offers a relaxing vibe where you can enjoy the scenery and farm animals. Perfect place to curl up and read a book or set up shop as your home away from home.
