This was infact my 2nd stay at this Homestay and it was just as perfect as it was the 1st time around. As a regular visitor to Nepal, this is now my 'go-to' homestay for future visits. The homestay is hosted by Aaishish, his wife, Suzu, and their mum, Aama and they have become like my family in a very short time. I had a great room with a balcony so this was lovely. Shared bathroom but the house infact has 3 bathrooms, one for each of the 3 floors of the house. Hot water each day which was a blessing and very strong wifi so working from here is very easy. I had multiple plug points in my room so could get everything charged up very easily. They also provide filtered water freely for drinking. The family are just so lovely. They make you feel very at ease and definitely accept you as a family member. We had a few movie nights and called in Pizza a few times. They also have a brilliant large garden that you can sit in.. The garden is the pride of Aashiish and he sometimes puts on movies in the garden also in the evening which is a real treat. The garden has multiple patios and a fab banana tree! Food is plentiful ! The homestay just keep trying to feed you all the time and both Aama & Suzu are wonderful cooks. Black tea or milk tea is available all day and you can ask for any special requests. I am not a huge lover of spicy foods so the family accommodated all my 'quirks' perfectly and always had options for me. The area is about 5km outside of Thamel and the city so its costs about 500 rupees to taxi back and forth. About 200m from the house is a modern coffee shop with also free wifi. On the same road as the homestay are 2 great restaurants which offer all kinds of food, coffees and drinks. They give you a little western reminder if you need this. Kirtipur is a real local town outside of the commerciality of Thamel and you can still easily access everywhere.

The hotel feels so clean and has an air of relaxation about it. The family showed great hospitality, made delicious food, and we were even lucky to be invited to a dinner party with their friends and family. It was delightful to meet their elder son Sagar, who was also extremely hospitable, was a very interesting partner for conversation, speaks great English, and answered many of our questions and explained many things about Nepal that nobody else was able to explain to us on this trip.

I do not often write a long critic, but I will do it in this case, as the hotel actually exceeded all my expectatives. I look for hotels that are Cozy, Comfortable and Clean (My 3C's): this hotel has them all. 1) Excellent free pickup at the airport. Much needed after a long flight. 2) Very clean big room, including windows (rare) and walls (much more rare). The beds are excellent: firm mattress very comfortable dressed with soft cotton very white sheets. I actually slept 14 hours arrow the first night. One of the cleanest hotel bathrooms I've ever had. 3) Good LOCAL breakfast (try the local dishes), although you have cereal, yoghurt, bread, omelets, pancakes and other items to fit western tastes. Sole blackspot: no brewed coffee (instant one instead). But you can go to a very modern mall located just about 100 m. away: for that go to the beginning of the alley, turn left and then immediately right (in a hidden alley), and you will find it. Several coffee shops. I recommend Arabica Coffee Shop and Java Coffee Shop. Both excellent. Open at 9 am. 4) Location is excellent: at the end of a dead-end street. That keeps you away of all the chaos of Kathmandu. As a matter of fact, my room looked partially to the park of Garden of the Dreams. You are only about 5 min away from downtown entrance. 5) No elevator, but someone will be ready to help you with your luggage. 6) Very friendly place. As a matter of fact, everything runs so smoothly because of the constant work of Mr. Gongo, the General Manager. Very servicial and ready to solve any problem. Congratulations. It is because of your work that your hotel exceeded my expectative. I will certainly will be back when in Nepal.

The staff made sure that visitors would not be scammed and even took them our to get food or to exchange money. They provided tips to protect visitors from being exploited and went beyond all expectations that hotel guests would have. What guests pay for the value of the services is great. It is a beautiful hotel with healthy food that is in the heart of one of the most adventurous and alive parts of Kathmandu. It is also close to the airport.
