This hotel was amazing! The staff were so friendly and polite, the bed was very comfortable and the room was great. Everything was very clean and the food was so good! I'd been hiking for the last two weeks so coming here was a real treat and very relaxing.

While it is a little farther from Durbar Square, the breathtaking architecture makes it well worth the visit. Though we didn’t get the chance to stay this time, the ambiance and design left a lasting impression. I will definitely choose to stay here on my next visit. Staff were so helpful and nice,! Food in the hotel (specially veg mo mo) delicious. I spent there long time and if I'll be in Bhaktapur again for sure I'll choose again this place. Really close to squers and bus station where you can get bus to nagrakot. Thank you! It was great to stay with you 😁

I am an architect working in Heritage Preservation and have worked in the past in Nepal so I can say that Bhaktapur is the best preserved city in Nepal and an outstanding example of a community living their traditions and therefore aware of their own culture identity. It is a city who h teaches everyone how to respect and preserve our own cultural heritage, to be seen at least one in the life!

Durbar Square is mind blowing.

Durbar Square is mind blowing. Good to visit after dark too for different atmosphere. I visited a few of the Pokhari around the old city. The river Hanumante was truly shocking with amount of rubbish and putridity. So close to UNESCO which was surprising.

It's been ages since I was in Kathmandu and I hear it's...

It's been ages since I was in Kathmandu and I hear it's gotten busier. Bhaktapur is a laid back option--lots of history and lots of local life at the same time. It's a walking town for travellers and you learn how to instinctively avoid the scooters. Pretty much every building has a rooftop Cafe of some sort and the views are spectacular. There's a little hustle from guides for hire in Durbar Square but they're pretty knowledgeable and the hustle is very gentle. If you're not interested, you can politely refuse and that will be the end of it. Given a choice, I'd pick Bhaktapur over Kathmandu as a place to hang out.

Bhaktapur, a great place to look at the culture in your own...

Bhaktapur, a great place to look at the culture in your own time , and enjoy without the hussle and bustle of a busy city, great to explore and watch people and especially the locals going about there traditions. Don’t be afraid to walk up allley ways, you may find a surprise, an open space with a religious monument, or children playing , maybe ladies drying rice, at certain time of the year. All in all a great place to study the people and there culture. And don’t forget to Try the King Kurd.

I have been traveling a lot in my life, but I never saw such a beautiful city. Eventhough, the dramatical earthquake , all the buildings and temples have been fixed with the old materiel. Walking by night in Bhaktapur in those small street is like to be in the middle age. Bhaktapur is a travel through the time.

My room had a fan usually warm and sometimes hot water, a fan, a balcony, desk and a big, comfortable bed. Clean, good WiFi. They altered the free breakfast to my liking. I arrived late and manager got his mom to make me whatever thali I wanted. Arranged taxi for me when I left. Great value budget hotel with charm and decor.

A big thanks to Om and Robin who were very kind, making every special effort to make sure the stay exceeded expectations. I would recommend this hotel because I believe they gave the best service during my time in Nepal. The hotel is close to the main square. The showers have hot water. The breakfast was good and the rooms are comfortable. Don't hesitate - book!

We had a really good stay at hotel layaku. Very comfortabel beds (wich is not always common in Nepal), the breakfast has a variety of continental and local food. The staff are absolute sweethearts, the most helpful we came across. Really good value for money. Absolute recommended!
