Beautiful place, not overcrowded.
Beautiful place, not overcrowded. Attended the parkrun on the Saturday, met a bunch of lovely folks there. The parkrun itself was tough. Had a lovely run along the fjord, lovely views and natural surroundings. Buses and trains were excellent. Went to the cinema, a comfortable experienece. Don't bother taking cash - everything is paid for by card. Plenty eateries for all tastes. Had a delicious dinner at the Indian Tandoori.

Stayed here as stopover before and after an 8-day Havilla cruise, Trondheim to Kirkenes and back. Which was excellent by the way and highly recommended.
So we spent one day touring the city and seeing some sites.
Walked a circuit to the Fortress, Bakklandet, Old Bridge around the river front into the Nidaros Cathedral and then down to the harbour via the town square. Enroute, tea & cake, lite lunch followed by an fantastic Beers & Pizza at Grano next to hotel. 5+ miles.

The booking.com recommendation with sleep 4 quadruple room 2...
The booking.com recommendation with sleep 4 quadruple room 2 adults and two children. (rules: check in age must be 18 years or old) But come in on the day of booking, the hotel staffs states the hotels rules is that children age of two years or older considers adult) so they charge extra person NOK 50 per child since the booking did not declare the child as adults. The hotels has not thing to do with the booking since it stated only two adult. I need to deal with the booking.com. stay away!!!

We stayed in Trondheim for 1 day to recover from 2-days ride...
We stayed in Trondheim for 1 day to recover from 2-days ride. Very nice and quite city. There are a couple of cool places if you like history: the Nidaross cathedral and the space around. We visited Rockheim and it is kinda cool. There are a lot of shops and restaurants in the central area. The city has its own vibe. However, it’s hard to imagine what to do there for 2+ days besides the trips outside.
This hotel exceeded my expectations in every possible way. Centrally located with friendly, helpful staff and real sense of security, the view from our room was the cherry on top. The breakfast buffet is incredible, with every option you could desire, from full English, pancakes, bacon and eggs, to fresh fruit, müsli and even traditional Norwegian breakfast. Options are available for people with allergies and intolerances as well. Plus there's free coffee in the lobby whenever you fancy a cup. I will definitely be returning here.
The staff was great. We had to completely cancel and reschedule our train to Bergen at the last minute and Florence Echarri took the time to help us get it all arranged. We also had to get a new booking for a hotel in Oslo for one night due to the changes and she found us a lovely room at the Hotel Bristol. Just over the top customer service.
The breakfast buffet was excellent and the room was lovely. Bottom line is that the Britannia Hotel was the best hotel of the seven we stayed in during our trip to Norway.
Hotel at the great location, next to Nidarosdomen, sanctum sanctorum of Norway. Holy place, felt very comfortable and peaceful sleeping there...It is next to Nidaros river, very nice sight... Everything of interest is in the short walking distance. Hotel is humble and one should not expect luxury especially from the place dedicated to pilgrims accommodation. Rooms and toilets are clean. The place is ok for 2 - 3 nights... Breakfast is good, variety of foods.
communicative staff, clean and comfortable place. provided amenities for things such as scrubber, female hygiene, laundry IN apartment with laundry soap, actually comfortable bed, tv with casting abilities to play movies from phone. fast wifi, electric charger for car outside. every need was met, even gave recommendations for delivering food late at night! would definitely stay again and planning to on our next Norway trip!
We were a party of 3, so in terms of value for money, the apartment made sense for us- it's spacious, and we each had our own room. It was clean and easy to get to the city center on foot. Also, the apartment is located by a train that runs to the airport- but we weren't able to take advantage of it, since our flight was early Saturday morning
We had a wonderful stay at Clarion Hotel Trondheim. The staff are all incredibly friendly and accommodating, the breakfast buffet is enormously generous and all delicious. Great bar and restaurant, comfortable room and an excellent location for exploring. Highly recommend.
Great location and comfortable rooms which were very clean and toasty. The beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately we could not make use of the break fast as we were leaving early and the hotel was unable to arrange for break fast that early in the morning.
We arrived late and left early, so the proximity to the train station, flexible late check-in and early-start breakfast were all essential. Breakfast was great, the beds comfy and the staff friendly, so the hotel completely met our short-stay needs!
As usual with Thon hotels. Good room with all the standard necessities, Fantastic breakfast and great location.
For parking we used the parking at the train station. It was around 25 € / day. Cheaper options might have been available elsewhere.
Ecellent location with 2 minutes walk to Nidaros Catheral, and near the river, and the bus stop to airport. Good breakfast. Free to check out late in weekend. The room is big and furniture.
Our hosts were absolutely nice and made us feel safe, they even went out or their way to make sure i got to the airport and the house was really clean and the room super comfortable
Luxury for a very reasonable price. All staff were lovely, rooms spacious with very comfy beds. The breakfast was insanely good, great location - overall an excellent hotel!
