Clean and fresh rooms. Good for spending a night along the road. Located right beside the main road (E6) that goes from south to north all through Norway. It is only a few minutes drive from Oppdal, the nearest town. Nearby you can go skiing, cycling, mountain hiking etc. Friendly staff and great food in the restaurant.

Second time I stayed at Vekve Hyttetun. Once again it was an excellent base to explore Dovrefell national park. Oppdal is only 25mins away from Kongsvol train station where you can hike to the DNT hut Reinheim or search around for Musk Ox to photograph. Friendly owner and the cabins are super comfortable and warm.

It is a beautiful large house with multiple bed- and bathrooms fully equiped with dishwasher, flatscreens with Google TV, large fridge, freezer etc. Sitting room(s) on multiple levels are so nice and comfortable! Camilla is a wonderfull host. We were early on arrival and she worked hard to get the house ready for us! What a luxury, two persons in your great house. Location is fine, Oppdal within 10 minutes, viewpoint Snøhetta about 35 minutes, Dovrefjell National Park, Folldal, Grimsdalen etc. all within 1 hour. Thanks Camilla, we had a really great time!

I stopped in Oppdal by train from Kongsvold.

I stopped in Oppdal by train from Kongsvold. I was on my way to Trondheim doing the pilgrimage of St. Olav's Way. Oppdal is this small town that has a lot of charm. I was able to walk around town for a little bit. There are sidewalks throughout town that allow you to get all over the place. Transportation - There is a train that can take you north to Trondheim. There's also a bus if you need to go to Berkåk. This makes it easy to get around. There's even a taxi service by the name of Trønder Taxi AS that you can use to get around. Warning - taxis are pretty pricey in Norway and I would recommend using public transportation if you can. Download Vy app to check times and buy any tickets you may need. I ended up eating at Burger King in Oppdal(I know, very American of me). I wanted to have something quick to eat. I will say this, fast food chains are more expensive than local restaurants.

nice hotel very clean with nice rooms and amenities. beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was very good with a lot of range, but no cappuccinos just filter coffee.unfortunately some building was going on right next door which detracted from ambience.the hotel is very close to a lovely cafe/deli/bakery just across the road.the little kitchenette was very usable and we could cook a nice meal .definitely value in this hotel.the3 free cappucino and hot chocolate in the reception was fantastic on our arrival on a day of rain.

Complete chalet, immediately felt at home here. Everything we needed was available. All good quality, very clean. Nice surroundings, private and extremely quiet (eg no traffic sounds, no dogs, no work on nextdoor construction was done during our visit). Simple and straightforward check-in, no direct interface with owners. 10 minuten drive to Oppdal with several restaurants.

Great, classic hotel on a stunning location. The hotel comprises a group of small woorden buildings with rooms spread across those buildings. The communal spaces are very tastefully decorated, especially the lounges and sitting rooms. The hotel room was small but very comfortable.
