Phillipshaugen is one of those magic places you should not miss out. We stayed in the spacious cottage, which provided ample space to dry out wet motorcycle gear. A fully equipped kitchen and other amenities made this stay worth noting. The scenery at Philipshaugen is magic and anyone staying there should take time to just 'watch the paint dry' outside... The team at Phillipshaugen goes out of their way to accommodate their guests. You immediately feel at home.

This is the only hotel around, do not expect to get the same hotel experience like in Trondheim, for example. Sunndalsøra is a small town, and the hotel is located at the heart of it. - I booked 2 double room, with 1 extra bed on a room for my daughter, both rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. We stayed just for 1 night but it was a great experience. The bed is comfortable, there's a TV with local Norwegian channels, and there is a fridge if you need one. - The scenery around the city is amazing, especially if you are not from Norway. If you use public transportation, the bus stop is right next to the hotel. There's also a taxi office near the hotel and bus stop if you need one. - The breakfast is great, there are options and their serving is generous. You also have free tea and coffee corner near the reception. - Wifi speed is fast, you can work in your room without hitch. - You can also keep your baggage in the hotel if you checked out before your bus/transport arrives.

Absolutely amazing 2 night stay!! We stayed in a cabin overlooking the beautiful Ålvundfjorden bay! The cabin itself had everything we needed - 2 comfortable beds, 2 stoves/oven, coffee filter machine, table and large decking area and access to a large bbq. There is 2 toilet/shower blocks close by, with powerful hot showers and was really clean, there is also access to a washing machine/tumble dryer. The Owner was so friendly and welcoming, he was always available to help/answer and questions and really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay! We absolutely loved EVERYTHING about this campsite, and just wish we had booked longer!!! We loved sitting out on the decking with a cold beer watching the stunning sunset right in the middle of the Fjord!!! Perfect!!!

Lovely place in the heart of nature. Comfortable, clean cabin. Clean toilets and bathroom. Big parking space, We really enjoyed our stay in there.

If I write down everything I liked about this accommodation I would have to write a book. Iris is a sweetheart and very helpful. Just ask her anything and she'll have an answer for it! The bedrooms are very cozy and one of them looks out on the beautiful mountains. The kitchen is open but there is a heating lamp for the colder days to heat up the whole place which is very effective. There is no sink but the bathroom is only two steps away and there is a nice sink you can use there so nothing to worry about. We were fortunate enough to have the place for ourselves for the week but usually the kitchen and bathroom are shared. Everything is well furnished and there is no need to bring towels or toilet paper since Iris provides that service for you! The closest shop is a very good shop to buy food and has everything you need even fishing rods! Since there is a fridge and freezer in the room and a lot of pots and pans and plates, there is more than enough room to make food and to not worry about a nearby restaurant. There are not many possibilities for that at all here but for us that was the least of our concerns. All in all we had an amazing stay and everything was amazingly up to standard when it came to cleanliness. Iris smokes outside which keeps the house very clean and we did the same which helped us to some lovely conversations in the morning with Iris to start the day. And last but not least! The beds were amazingly comfortable!

W O W !!! Words simply cannot describe how fantastic our experience was! I will begin with Iris, the owner and the host. What a lovely lady she is. Warm, welcoming, considerate, caring, ready to share her knowledge about the immediate area as well as further afield. We felt properly at home and looked after from the moment we arrived. Iris makes your stay comfortable effortlessly. She is a lady of a house, the nicest possible, and emanates all the positive energy onto her guests. Iris is full of life and full of smile. Will engage if her guests prefer and will remain in the background if that is what they want. Now onto the property. The location near the fjord is absolutely exceptional. Despite few other properties/ camp sites being there this one is different. Located on an elevated plateau, accessible with a tiny effort, rewards its guests with views of an exceptional quality which no photos can do justice. One simply has to visit and take the experience with them. The mountains, painted by the sun rays, which surround the fjord made us want to go out and breathe, all that power of nature, in. Regrettably, we only stayed there for two nights so to return is our dream. As, it was and will be, of many visitors, I am sure.

We liked the beautifull view every morning, aswell as the nice hikeing tips from the host, but our higlight was the fishing from the boat with a nice fishing place not far away, because of that we often could eat fresh fish.
