Vickinghaug is set amongst incredible Norwegian fjord scenary. It has the other point of interest in that there is a, no longer functioning in its original capacity , factory in the middle of the Fjord. Because it poses no environmental problems any longer. This factory gives the Fjord an interesting historical relevance. The proprietors are obviously always improving the function of the accomodation to suit lots of different styles of travellers. We stayed in a three bedroom, self catering apartment with views on both sides. We had a drink in the evening looking over the lake and the waterfall and dinner at night looking over the Fjord. The walks in the area are popular because they are so full of natural beauty and thus attract many hikers and campers . The town felt slightly off piste from the over used tourist pathways which suited us perfectly.

The accommodation was spacious, new, modern and well-equipped. It is a series of separate apartments on the first, second and third floors. Access is from a door on the street and it is not possible to unload a car from in front of the building. You have to park in another location but there is plenty of free parking available nearby. To get up to the apartments there is only a narrow stairway. The first floor apartment has a door opening on to a large roof-space with very nice views of the fjord and surrounding town.

Odda is quite small and the place is not too far from city...

Odda is quite small and the place is not too far from city centre. There should be an additional information about rent of duvets and bed sheets for 10 euro or 100 nor coron (they do not accept cards so you have to take cash from atm). Ppl at the reception are nice. However the information about limits in water quite weird. In Norway everything is a bit more expensive but comping just Bergen to Odda, Odda you have to multiply prices for accommodation. Quality wasn't that high, room clean but showers are need to be improved. Also they need to inform ppl to close the door from kitchen as smell is going around the whole building. Enjoy your stay don't forget to take your tracking shoes before entering the building. :)

Odda itself isn't particularly interesting.

Odda itself isn't particularly interesting. You can quickly see everything in its few streets and along the fjord; the restaurants are standard. The town's main appeal lies in its surroundings and the nearby hiking trails (a definite favorite is the loop that leads to Reinanuten via the lakes).

If you like spectacular nature and appreciate hiking in very steep terrain with amazing peaks as the final destination. Odda is the place. Very dependent on the weather. We were lucky this time too. The fruit trees blooming is a fantastic sight. (This time we were too early,)

A picturesque town with fjords and mountains, there are supermarkets and hotels. Close to the rock "Troll's Tongue", to the Fonnelfonna glacier and the valley of waterfalls. An ideal town to walk the most interesting routes in the mountains

Really liked the place. I with friends just went down from Trolltunga. All way back and forth. We were really tired. So just bad and shower was needed. Didn't had energy for ten. So was really lucky to find two last beds. First time was using this type of hotel. And can say best experience in. Everything is clean. They have a kitchen, 3 bathrooms. Worm place for your outside clothes to dry. Nice location. Everything short distance. Definitely recommend and will comeback if will be the. And big thank you for welcoming

This property is amazing! Sitting outside in the rain under the veranda looking out over the water and up into the mountain’s couldn’t be anymore perfect. I’ve stayed in many hotels, guest houses and hostels but I can honestly say I’d go back here before any fancy hotel no matter how many stars or fancy taps it has. You’ll struggle to find better people suited to your lifestyle. If you enjoy the great outdoors that is :) ❤️⛰️

For the price, the room was really basic, much more basic than we'd expected. Despite that, everywhere was warm and spotlessly clean which was nice. We visited out of season and I think we were the only people there so we had the bathroom to ourselves and they upgraded us for free too. The room was warm and the beds were comfy. The location is great for Odda, Trolltunga and the Buarbreen Glacier.

We had a really nice stay in the odda central apartment. It was perfect situated for our hike to trolltunga. Forthermore the owner replyed really quickly to Everything we needed. The interiour was completly new and everything was on point. My highlight was the bathroom, super nice after a long hike when you want a hot shower afterwards. Thanks for the stay :)
