It was by far the coziest place we're stayed in, everything from the decor to the people, there's a warmth that's hard to describe in words. In 5 nights we had bad weather and no northern lights until the very last night when we simply WALKED OUTSIDE OUR ROOM AND SAW THE NORTHERN LIGHTS. .... just great. The atmosphere in the hotel - a woww from checking to checkout! Great support from the friendly receptionists - big support on booking tours. The friendly spirit from the hotel was reflected from the entire stuff as well from the guests. We had a fantastic time - unfortunately too short. Big ❤ to the base camp family.

A small guesthouse, 4 rooms and living room/kitchen, very clean, rooms with several beds, but accessible as singles. Fully equipped kitchen with anything you might need for your stay. Decent price, close to the city center, near the University, a few minutes walk from the bus station, 10 minutes to the supermarket and the city center. The very kind and friendly staff were there for any need, including suggesting trips or helping us with a taxi. Special thanks to Julia, with whom we tried for two nights to meet Aurora and did not give up until we were successful! I will come back to Longyearbyen with great pleasure and will definitely stay at Ruskiy Dom!

The apartment was quite spacious. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cutleries. Remembering some of the reviews, we took some ingredients with us and brought some from the supermarket nearby. We had two bedrooms, but one the bedrooms did not have a closet. The apartment was almost always at a comfortable temperature. We would love to be back here. Sound and air insulations were really good. We had a good overall stay!
