The location of the hotel was magnificent. The room overlooked the fjord directly. The hotel's restaurant was right by the fjord. The door of our room opened directly onto the fjord. (It was the only room where the door opened directly onto the fjord. However, all other rooms have balconies with magnificent views.) The staff were very polite and attentive. The room was very spacious. The toilet and bathroom were separate and very convenient. There was a coffee machine in the room. They offer private parking service to customers. There wasn't anything we didn't like. It's truly an amazing hotel. We were pleased with everything. We would like to stay here again next time.

This hotel was amazing! The rooms were beautiful, spacious, and very clean – everything felt luxurious and high-quality. Breakfast was varied and delicious. We stayed with our dog, and the hotel was perfectly prepared for that. They provided a dog bed and bowls, and we had a room with direct access to the garden. Please note that dogs are only allowed in ground-floor rooms, so it’s important to inform the hotel in advance to make sure one of these rooms is available. It was perfect – our dog loved it and could go outside every morning right from the room. The view from the room was stunning, overlooking the harbor with large ships, and the area around the hotel offered plenty of hiking opportunities and beautiful nature. Overall, a 100% experience – both the hotel and its location. A bit more expensive, but absolutely worth it. Perfect stay, especially if you’re traveling with a dog!

The site is wonderful, the architecture is great and its pub was marvelous. It is close of all the amenities and touristic transportation. The personnel was so kind and the breakfast delicious. Definitely a marvelous place to stay.

This was an amazing hotel experience all around, we stayed 3 nights and enjoyed every minute! Everything about this hotel gave us a very warm, homey feeling, from the vintage house and its decor, to the wonderful staff, to the 24-hour coffee in the lobby, tasty and plentiful breakfasts, and dinners in the on-site restaurant, which were terrific. We booked a room overlooking the fjord that had a spectacular view, even from the bathroom! Special mention to Vineta and Jasmine who made us feel so welcome and answered all our questions, gave us travel tips, and always seemed to genuinely want us to feel comfortable and cared for. Also to Laila, the manager of the restaurant, who was so friendly and took time to help us with the menu and tell us about local foods. We totally recommend staying at the Vangsgaarden Gjestgiveri and really hope to make it back there one day!!

This hotel was amazing! The rooms were beautiful, spacious, and very clean – everything felt luxurious and high-quality. Breakfast was varied and delicious. We stayed with our dog, and the hotel was perfectly prepared for that. They provided a dog bed and bowls, and we had a room with direct access to the garden. Please note that dogs are only allowed in ground-floor rooms, so it’s important to inform the hotel in advance to make sure one of these rooms is available. This was an amazing hotel experience all around, we stayed 3 nights and enjoyed every minute! If you want a traditional Norwegian experience this is the...

If you want a traditional Norwegian experience this is the place. We hiked up to Stegastein viewpoint and it was great but the view was even better from the house itself. We didn't have brilliant blue skies but the mountains and fjord still looked amazing all the time we were there. It was fabulous.
