The cabin was well equipped with a well stocked kitchen and bathroom supplies. It was lovely to have 2 lounges as the one upstairs gave fabulous views when sat down and we enjoyed going out on the decking. Very peaceful and easy to park and find. We enjoyed walking up the hill opposite every day.

Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by mountains. It's located right in the center of Lofoten which makes it a great base for those we want to explore the archipelago. Buksnes church is charming and a must see. Also it's near to Leknes where you can find a lot of stores and supermarkets. Ballstad will have a special place in our hearts as it was where we saw the most fantastic Aurora show which we were expecting for so long.

Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands.

Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands. We were able to take day trips to the north and south without having to relocate. The location outside of Leknes had easy access to the main road, gas and restaurants if not eating at our hotel - Hattvika Lodge.

There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view...

There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view from the lodge was just okay. It is on the water but overlooks a cod fishing plant which is authentic but there are other towns whereby the view is in a fjord and much nicer to look out to. Ballstad is convenient as it is a good midway point for the Lofoten Islands but I would recommend other towns to stay in for views and shops and cafes.

Very small town with limited hotel and dining options. You visit Norway for the scenery but driving into Ballstad was one of the least scenic roads we were on. No compelling reason too visit or stay.

WOW! Ballstad is a great location for your home base in the Lofoten Islands. The cabin was spacious, the beds were decent, and the fully stocked kitchen was convenient. This place was epic and is close to so many trails and activities. Roland was a really great guide for our midnight sea kayaking excursion and there was a very cute and friendly cat who wanders the area and came to see us every day. The receptionist helped me also surprise my husband for his birthday and left a few treats in our cabin.

The cabin had everything we needed for our four night stay at the end of August/early September with another couple while we were exploring Lofoten. It was quiet, very clean and very comfortable. Øystein was very prompt in answering queries and even dropped around an electric BBQ for us to use one evening, which was very kind. The outlook from the deck to Ballstad harbour and the peaks behind was stunning. The washing machine/dryer was welcomed by us weary travellers, as was the powerful shower.

Amazing stay at Ballstad and my family demanding me a revisit to this place in future trips. Our first experience in cabins and this place is so cosy spacious clean neat and you have everything here view and best calmness at stay. Owners are very kind and supportive. The modern fisherman cabin was very comfortable situated on the waterfront in Ballstad. We enjoyed the fact that everything was new and clean and its location allowed us to travel fairly short distances to all the areas of Lofoten without moving house.
