The hotel is well situated, 5 minutes walk from the town centre. There is a parking just behind the hotel, the fees are very reasonable (14 euros for 24h) . It is very convenient. The hotel is very pleasant, with a little shop at the entrance where you can buy, coffee/tea, drinks, knacks and breakfast in the morning. In the morning, you have fresh pastries, fancy yogurts and plenty nice things! You just pay for what you take! The staff was very helpful and so nice! The room was simple but very well decorated, very clean and had everything we needed. Everything was PERFECT!

Very pleasant bar to relax before going to bed. Good breakfast with all the things I like coming back home to Friesland from New Zealand. Location was chosen as we arrived by train from Schiphol and wanted to rent a car next day. Could just walk across the road with out suitcases.

Bigger than I originally thought it would be.

Bigger than I originally thought it would be. Road works in town and may have incurred a ticket as I drove down a road with a camera en route to the Walrus restaurant. Unable to read Dutch signs until they were pointed out by a Dutch friend. Very warm and helpful people.

A unique town to visit.

A unique town to visit. A beautiful town centre with many restaurants and bars to choose from. Many historic buildings to view and admire. I visited the nearby Koninkje Luchtmacht vliegbasis where a major NATO exercise was taking place.

We enjoyed Leeuwarden for the 2 days we were there, a...

We enjoyed Leeuwarden for the 2 days we were there, a delightful small town with a mixture of old and modern. We particularly enjoyed the canal trip - do the longer 1.5 hour one; it's only 8 Euro. Of course we did the Fries and ceramics museums, a little disappointing as although everything was very well presented, they make the most of what they have, there weren't that many exhibits. It didn't cater very well to non Dutch speakers I thought. We didn't go up the wonky tower as it was a very hot day and we were tired, interesting to look at though. If you enjoy meat go to Loetjes restaurant next to the hotel, excellent ! Watch out for bicycles everywhere, they seem to have priority in Netherlands. FYI it is illegal to drink alcohol in public places.

I didn't know what to expect but picked Leeuwarden as a...

I didn't know what to expect but picked Leeuwarden as a central spot for exploring Friesland. It is a beautiful town that is the perfect size to get around easily. There was so much more to do here than I expected and could easily have stayed for a week or more without getting bored. It was easy to walk to great museums, restaurants and shopping. My children highly recommended the Nature Museum which was very interactive and good for children of all ages and adults too. We enjoyed shopping in the Blokhuispoort and taking to the artisans about their sustainability story. We stayed at the Post Plaza Hotel and highly recommend it. Next time, I will go in spring/summer/fall and rent a bike to explore even more. Very bike friendly city.

The city is a perfect example of how to combine the old with the new. The architecture is very nice to observe, the people are friendly, there's a lot going on on the streets so it's never boring and there are also a lot of quiet places by the canals where you can get a moment of rest. There are not a lot of things that would be specifically aimed at tourists which adds a very nice wibe as you get the sense that the atmosphere is very genuine.

Friesland is a beautiful area of the Netherlands.

Friesland is a beautiful area of the Netherlands. Leeuwarden itself is a busy tourist town with lots of things to see and lots of shops and restaurants. Like many of the surrounding villages (for example Franeker) it is full of old, historic buildings. The sea is not far away and you should definitely try a guided mud walk (wadlopen) when the tide is out. A few kilometers to the south of Leeuwarden you will find De Alde Feanen National Park. Rent a bike in Grou and cycle along one of the many marked cycle routes.

the hotel is run but the studenten of the hotel University of Applied sciences of Leeuwarden and I can tell you they know more about customer care and being attentive that what you see in other hotels. They are very nice and professional. the rooms are modern and eco friendly. great hotel.

The hotel staff is incredibly kind. They did everything to make our stay great and helped us whenever we had a request. On top of that, the bed is very comfortable, the room has a great view, and the cleanliness is exceptional. Perfect experience from start to finish!
