The hotel was really beautifully appointed it’s a small establishment a converted residence with 9 bedrooms and one studio. The room I stayed in was no 3 on the ground floor considering a large sitting room and large bedroom with an attached conservatory. The hotel operates an honestly system with drinks snacks coffee / tea available from the pantry 24 hours .i would highly recommend this hotel .

It's awesome, the location at the city center offers you so many possibilities, you are "halfway" from Amsterdam (16 minutes train) and from Utrecht (25 min train I think but double check). Almere city center is a huge open door shopping center with several different stores and restaurants, there is a dike around the city witch is pretty cool and it's close to a Outlet in Lelystad - the Batavia Shopping mall.

Checkin was unbelievably easy. We met the friendly staff at the restaurant foyer and received our room assignment along with room access. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless. I must mention the shampoo, soap, and other amenities were the very best! Last but not least the restaurant food was spectacular and the servers were attentive and accommodating. We ate most of our meals at the Vesting restaurant and the Chef even prepared a nice take away lunch for our next train journey. We visited three countries and found accommodations in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France wonderful all the way around. Among the three of us travelers it was unanimous that the Vesting was our favorite amidst some amazing establishments.

The purpose of the trip was to revisit the FLORIADE Garden...

The purpose of the trip was to revisit the FLORIADE Garden exhibition We found Huizen a quiet comfy town as a base to also visit = Zaans Museum windmills,Cheese,Clogs Volendam=Very busy traditional fishing town .Lots of restaurants,Souvenir. shops,Boat trips Fish stalls(soused herring).We also went to re visit Afslutdijk Dam but this was spoiled by heavy road works and closed visitor centre Back in Huizen we eat in "De Haven van Huizen" alongside the boat moorings Very good Food setting and price. Next night was "Het Wapen van Huizen"Very welcoming but more of a Pub type experience .Our travel around was by car or foot so we have no knowledge of Public Transport. Beware of cycles! They seem to have right of access everywhere and catch you unaware " silent approach and Bells must be prohibited" Shopping is easy everybody seems to speak good english and are happy to see you. However cash is not the prefered payment (strangely neither is VISA but , Mastercard NO PROB) No need to overstock on Euros Having traveled by car from the SHUTTLE we found some traffic congestion but not too bad except ANTWERP although the English are supposed to enjoy queuing this is not recommended GOOD LUCK Chris G

The house is extraordinarily well-equipped. The photos and description are 100% accurate; what you see is what you get. The kitchen is truly well-equipped. The outdoor space is beautifully maintained and livable when the weather permits. We even dined outside. The owners, who live upstairs, are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We will definitely return on our next trip to the Netherlands.

We had a room with view on the water, and we spent quite some time watching the boats come in and out of the harbor. It was a very nice view. The room itself was correct. We gathered a lot of info on what to see in this region from the reception. The place where the hotel is, is a super beautiful traditional and well maintained spot. Very cute!

Lydeke and Hans have made sure that you have everything that you could possibly need or want at your fingertips and the breakfasts were amazing. The beds were all comfortable and there were so many places where you could sit and relax. Lovely quiet and safe area. We will definitely stay here again if we make it back to The Netherlands.

Everything was perfect! If I find myself even remotely near Huizen again I would choose to stay here. Helena ans Martijn were very pleasant, thoughtful, and helpful, and the house itself was comfortable and neatly designed. The location was very convenient as well. I highly recommend!
