There was a basic breakfast available with butter (selfmade?) and jam. Really delicious and perfect for us, as we arrived late in the evening. The location is in the middle of green fields and a nice landscape. With the Uber it’s around 20€ to get to Utrecht. Really positive was the fact, that there were free bikes available, which can be used. Only the lights were not working, but this was okay during the day. Furthermore the host Stefan was really kind and helpful with a sightseeing tour for Utrecht and other recommendations. We really enjoyed our stay. Can highly recommend to stay with them.

Spacious room with a very comfy bed. Excellent location ~ close enough to the Central train station but in the heart of the action of the old city. Boon's grocery store a 2 minute walk away. The balcony doors allowed us to enjoy the busy-ness of the street below at an arms length. We appreciated the provision of a few essentials that allowed us to have snacks in our room. Friendly host who was interested in our well being.

Houten is a typical town where you can do your daily shopping. It's centrally located for easy access to other cities like Gouda, Utrecht, Amersfoort, and others. We explored everything by bicycle and would definitely do it again, as the infrastructure is excellent for cycling.

The renovations will soon be over and we will have a nice...

The renovations will soon be over and we will have a nice spa available again. The parking lot is now covered and much larger, so no more searching for a space. The bus stop for Utrecht is right in front of the door.

The accommodation is located in the municipality of Houten.

The accommodation is located in the municipality of Houten. The distance is the same as to Utrecht. We didn't actually visit Houten itself – apparently it's not particularly worthwhile, except perhaps for grocery shopping :-) Utrecht, however, is a worthwhile destination. Lively, with a young crowd (due to the university), and a beautiful city center with shopping streets, restaurants, bars, etc.

If you're looking for a cozy atmosphere, Houten isn't the place to be; it's a completely new city sculpted by spatial planners and architects. A bit soulless. If you're looking for a highly functional and affordable place to stay within a short train ride of Utrecht, you'll find it here.

every thing from start to finish at this Hotel is always enjoyable, Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable clean rooms, Breakfast and dinning is exceptional. although they are having extensive building work carried out increase their room capacity and facilities this did not in anyway detract from the enjoyment of our stay.
