This was like a fairy tale place. Very close to the lake in Ometepe island the owner has created with his own hands an amazing place. Very helpful owner that provide clear instruction how to get there!

This was easily one of the best hostels if have stayed at. The host family is extremly welcoming and organizes everything you could want (taxi, bikerental, kayaktour) at good prices. The room was cleaned every day and we were given fresh towels daily as well. The breakfast (can only recommend adding that) is delicious and filling. There was a hiccup with the communication via booking.com (it had overbooked the room and when we got there a solution was already provided. I cannot overstate how nice and generous the hostess Odelba and her family was. Jutst thank you for making our stay this wonderful!

Had an amazing stay in Cabana el ojoche! We booked for 4 nights but extended it for a whole week. It was so nice to have our own appartment and garden. It was also super clean and they cleaned it during our stay as well. The location is perfect, near to everything you need and it also felt really safe. We also loved the privacy. Shoutout to Junior who was an amazing host. He helped us a lot with recomendations and went on some hikes with us. Would definetely recommend this cabana!

Such a beautiful place right on the waterfront and surrounded by local houses. It is peaceful and still right in the little village where you find a grocery shop and restaurants. Very attentive host who is available anytime and makes sure all is well. He organized the motobike for us for a cheap price and gave us extra information we needed. Comfortable bed, big bathroom and everything clean. Absolutely loved the doggies that live next door. Give them some food and love. They will be so happy. :) The mosquitos as some wrote weren’t a problem at all. Got like 3 bites and that’s it. If you put on some spray for the evenings you’re good.

Hostel was amazing. Family was so welcoming and supporting in organising all activities as taxi, kayaks. Food was delicious and location is the best on the island, close to the beach and the best restaurants:) Fully recommend that place.

A lovely little town on Ometepe Island.

A lovely little town on Ometepe Island. The locals were so nice and kind. I enjoyed riding around and just taking in all of the beautiful nature. Playa Mangoes was also a short drive from my hostel. I look forward to returning one day.

Very small place but with everything we needed.

Very small place but with everything we needed. We rented a scooter from Guti Motor Rentals. They were good would use them again. Cafe Campestre has fabulous food. We went everyday. As a days activity we walked up to Finca Magdalena and from there you pay a small fee and can visit the petroglyphs. On the way back there is a nice pool to swim in (small fee) On the other day we took our scooter out to Charco Verde Reserve. Would recommend. There’s a lovely walk and beach for a swim

There were several places to eat, one of which, Cafe...

There were several places to eat, one of which, Cafe Campestre, had Indian meals, hand-made pasta, and other selections. The only bad thing was dogs roaming through the restaurant looking for food. This is the only restaurant I ate at, and is probably by far the best place in town to eat. Didn't see any Nicas eating there. Probably kind of expensive for them.

Lots of great restaurants in the area.

Lots of great restaurants in the area. Make sure you have a way to move around, whether you rent a car or a motorcycle, it's very important you do. Eating at El Pital was amazing. There are three other restaurants I thoroughly enjoyed too: Bustavo Food Bus (which is right beside El Pital), Cafe Campestre, and Playa Mango.

The hotel is at a starting point to climb up the Maderas...

The hotel is at a starting point to climb up the Maderas volcano. My room had an amazing view of the Concepcion volcano. Although there is no kitchen, they provide delivery options . The pizza was wonderful!!!
