The Hotel is great! It has a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. I was very surprised about how lovely the place was decorated. Itˋs a perfect place to slow down and relax for a few days including the possibility to go to one of the national parks close by. It was really quiet at Night and also during the day by the Pool. The staff is really friendly and breakfast is good.

We stayed in a treehouse and it was awesome. The resort is located within the national park and you are able to do some trails. Lots of opportunities to spot monkeys. Nice little beach within the resort.

We had lovely time in Damai Beach Resort. Since the receptioninst made a mistake and put into the wrong category of accomodation, we have seen both. Invest into the premium category, you will not regret it. That part of the hotel is a paradise. The standart category is ok but it doesnt even get half way to the experience you get on the top of the hill. There are great pools in the resort and you practically have the beach for yourself.

From the moment we arrived, we felt ourselves slowing down — exactly what we didn’t realise we needed. We were warmly greeted with fresh coconuts, a simple yet beautiful gesture that immediately made us feel welcomed and cared for. It set the tone for a stay that was calm, thoughtful, and deeply connected to nature. We stayed as a family of five — two teenage boys (19 and 18) and our 9-year-old daughter — and this resort turned out to be the perfect space for rebonding and family bonding. The accommodation was exceptionally comfortable, spacious, and well maintained, making it easy for everyone to relax and feel at home. It’s rare to find a place that suits teenagers, a younger child, and parents equally well, but Cocoon Resort did exactly that. What we truly appreciated was how naturally the environment encouraged siblings to reconnect and for us as parents to spend unhurried, meaningful time with our children. Surrounded by greenery and nature, conversations flowed more easily, laughter came naturally, and there was no need to rush anywhere. The views and peaceful atmosphere created a sense of healing — mentally, emotionally, and physically. So much is already provided within the resort that staying in felt like a luxury. It is a place designed for rest, healing, and simply being present. Whether you want to chill, reflect, or enjoy quality family moments, Cocoon Resort allows you to do so effortlessly. A special mention to the thoughtful gesture of thank-you umbrellas — a small detail, yet one that speaks volumes about the warmth and generosity of the hosts. This was hands down one of the most comfortable and meaningful stays we’ve experienced as a family. We left feeling refreshed, reconnected, and truly grateful for the time spent together. Our visit to Santubong was a peaceful escape into nature’s beauty. Surrounded by lush green hills and set against the South China Sea, the area offers breathtaking views—especially during sunset at Damai Beach. The calm waves, golden skies, and majestic silhouette of Mount Santubong made it a perfect spot for reflection and photography. While we enjoyed the stunning scenery and relaxing atmosphere, some parts of the beach and resort surroundings could benefit from better maintenance to preserve the natural charm. Still, Santubong remains a wonderful destination for those who appreciate quiet moments, nature, and beautiful coastal landscapes.

Breakfast selection was very limited and the time taken for replenishment was slow. The pool facilities overall was as what we expected (decent), but we had a very unpleasant experience with the team building group that were present. There was loud techno music being played by the pool reception staff and when I approached him to request for him to either change the music or tone down the volume, he informed me that the music was requested by the other guests. I was later informed by the staff concerned that he did not have a choice but to honor the guests requests (which is totally understandable), but what made it a total turn off was the fact that the management did not put conditions on these types of guests requests which potentially disrupts the peace and serenity. I could go elsewhere if I'm being a "Karen" about this feedback, but it's my honest review. Apart from the crappy techno / rave music that was blasting from the pool area and the poor selection of breakfast, I'd give 4 stars for the service/ hospitality by the staff in general.

Nice place for the location, beach & mountain.

Nice place for the location, beach & mountain. Breakfast & other meals can be improved ~ however we should give management grace period post lockdown. Please improve the wifi - it can’t be used. Visit Cultural Village- it is within walking distance & nicely set up.

The staff were warm, helpful, friendly and tolerated us changing our mind on tour dates without fuss. The pool is perfect after a hot day climbing Mt Santubong, and the atmosphere / styling is great. Very relaxing most of the time (see dislike comments), beautifully themed, and plenty of places to sit back and read a book or have a snooze. Also awesome that it is a 'kid-free' zone.
