This was a one bedroom lodge with its own deck overlooking the jungle and beach. It was rustic but v well appointed - we loved the geckos in the roof, and watching fireflies at night. Hibiscus beach is beautiful and a 10 min walk away is a fantastic cafe where you can eat in the beach and watch the sun set.

Our stay at this homestay was truly excellent, far beyond our expectations. The spacious layout and homely atmosphere made us feel extremely comfortable, as if we were in our own home. The house was well-maintained, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed throughout our stay. The surrounding environment was peaceful, offering us privacy and a relaxing experience after a busy day. The host’s hospitality added a cute personal touch, making the whole experience even more memorable. This landed homestay provided the perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and warmth. Hidden away this was an absolute gem of a place - total luxury in a quote location back from the beach (only 2 min walk). Plenty of space for family of 5, large Ned rooms with fan and AC, clean bathrooms, well appointed kitchen and of course the pool - magical. The on-site team of staff were very attentive, each morning breakfast was prepared for us to order, whilst the pool was cleaned and the garden racked and tidied - couldn’t fault the service.

Very nice owner and what a peaceful quiet place. We loved our stay away from the crowd. The room was clean and comfy. Shower pressure was the best we had in Malaysia! You are away from everything so don't forget to buy food or order with the owner day by day for RM15 per meal.

Nature enthusiasts will be enthralled by the diverse landscapes that Kudat offers. From the stunning beaches like Tip of Borneo, where the South China Sea meets the Sulu Sea in a breathtaking convergence, to the lush greenery of the countryside, Kudat paints a picture of serenity and raw beauty. The local culture and traditions are woven intricately into the fabric of everyday life. Exploring the Rungus Longhouses was a highlight, providing a glimpse into the indigenous way of life, adorned with vibrant traditions and warm hospitality. Location and accommodation is not probably not to everyone...

Location and accommodation is not probably not to everyone liking. If you like unpolished and very basic right at the sea than this can be your place to chill out. Tides over here are somewhere between 1,5-2 meters.

Apart from the tip of borneo, nothing much to do.

Apart from the tip of borneo, nothing much to do. Beach will not be so beautiful during Dec as the weather is bad. All the beautiful beach and blue water that you see in pictures do not apply if there is a tropical storm at the area. The Kudat down is boring and not as I have imagined. Tip, only go during good weather when the sea is calmer.

The friendly people, the sandy beaches and the coconut trees...

The friendly people, the sandy beaches and the coconut trees everywhere give Kudat district a special, relaxed, holiday feel, distinct from the rest of the west coast of Sabah. The Tip of Borneo is the focal point for beach goers, with its white sands and clear water, but any drive provides interesting insights into the local ways of life.

Abang was very helpful. They went out of their way to help us when our bike got punctured and it was raining. We moved from West Borneo to the East and this has to be the best stay in Borneo. A bit far from the city but that's what makes this place special. You can go for a swim or snorkel just 50m away from the guest house. If you are a guest travelling to Kudat, please maintain the cleanliness and the safety of aquatic life. The locals are working hard to preserve the same.

The location is perfect ... Morning view is stunning looking over the gulf and the fish port, sunset view lagi best where you can see beautiful colours of the sky, hills and sea water. Downstairs of the hotel you can access to a supermarket to get your supplies, also you have a local breakfast place. Parking is plenty.
