Great location, very friendly staff, we stayed twice and each time we had a room on the harbour side so had great views. Would recommend this as the best place to stay in Kudat.

This was a one bedroom lodge with its own deck overlooking the jungle and beach. It was rustic but v well appointed - we loved the geckos in the roof, and watching fireflies at night. Hibiscus beach is beautiful and a 10 min walk away is a fantastic cafe where you can eat in the beach and watch the sun set.

Our stay at this homestay was truly excellent, far beyond our expectations. The spacious layout and homely atmosphere made us feel extremely comfortable, as if we were in our own home. The house was well-maintained, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed throughout our stay. The surrounding environment was peaceful, offering us privacy and a relaxing experience after a busy day. The host’s hospitality added a cute personal touch, making the whole experience even more memorable. This landed homestay provided the perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and warmth. I never make time for reviews but this place deserves it. I booked 1 night, stayed 3, wish I could live there...Amazing location, beautiful quiet beach (and ok with beach campfires), massive portions of delicious homemade food at super reasonable price (easily accommodated vegetarian but would love to serve you fresh seafood), comfy and safe place (solo female traveller here and felt 100% comfortable at all times), many activities depending on your wishes. One of the best snorkelling locations I've ever seen (Belize has nothing compared to Banggi island!!). Best of all, I felt treated as a guest/friend rather than a source of cash. Host Romeo really went out of his way to make me happy. Cannot say enough good things....just go for yourself and you will be amazed

Hidden away this was an absolute gem of a place - total luxury in a quote location back from the beach (only 2 min walk). Plenty of space for family of 5, large Ned rooms with fan and AC, clean bathrooms, well appointed kitchen and of course the pool - magical. The on-site team of staff were very attentive, each morning breakfast was prepared for us to order, whilst the pool was cleaned and the garden racked and tidied - couldn’t fault the service.

If you have a book you want to finish reading, some work to do on a laptop and still snorkel or swim morning or afternoon while doing so this place is the spot. This homestay is the classic village house on a coast in a small village, and the ambiance is excellent to relax and slow down your trip. Perfect to escape the crowds and herds of tourists in Sabah. The owner was amazing and helpful, very knowledgeable in terms of snorkeling and diving in the whole region or even further, and his family cooked us homemade dinner and fresh fish every night for a little extra. Beach is small in terms of sand but has a very shallow water area that goes far. The beach extends very far south and you can go for a long walk in the evening. Local fishermen are very friendly and enthusiastic to see you.

Howard was so passionate and informative, he went above and beyond to make this a great stay for us. Nothing was too much trouble and his family were so welcoming and hospitable. The lodges are a great location in the jungle, but also a 25 minute walk to the beach. It's an interesting but also peaceful environment to spend a few days exploring the area. The beach walk recommend by Howard was amazing, it's like paradise!

The Tips of North Borneo is worth to visit. Golfers may find it worth playing few round of golf at the 18-hole Kudat Golf Club. Others perhaps are shopping for dried fish, anchovies and the famous Kudat peanuts.

Nature enthusiasts will be enthralled by the diverse landscapes that Kudat offers. From the stunning beaches like Tip of Borneo, where the South China Sea meets the Sulu Sea in a breathtaking convergence, to the lush greenery of the countryside, Kudat paints a picture of serenity and raw beauty. The local culture and traditions are woven intricately into the fabric of everyday life. Exploring the Rungus Longhouses was a highlight, providing a glimpse into the indigenous way of life, adorned with vibrant traditions and warm hospitality. Location and accommodation is not probably not to everyone...

Location and accommodation is not probably not to everyone liking. If you like unpolished and very basic right at the sea than this can be your place to chill out. Tides over here are somewhere between 1,5-2 meters.

Apart from the tip of borneo, nothing much to do.

Apart from the tip of borneo, nothing much to do. Beach will not be so beautiful during Dec as the weather is bad. All the beautiful beach and blue water that you see in pictures do not apply if there is a tropical storm at the area. The Kudat down is boring and not as I have imagined. Tip, only go during good weather when the sea is calmer.

The friendly people, the sandy beaches and the coconut trees...

The friendly people, the sandy beaches and the coconut trees everywhere give Kudat district a special, relaxed, holiday feel, distinct from the rest of the west coast of Sabah. The Tip of Borneo is the focal point for beach goers, with its white sands and clear water, but any drive provides interesting insights into the local ways of life.

Very neat and clean house at 2nd floor of a shoplot. Located in the center of Kudat town, very close to shops and eatery place. The host is very helpful and kind. He provided us with some info on interesting places to go as well as things to do while in Kudat. Definitely will stay here once in Kudat with family again.

Had a great stay here! The room was clean with towels, soap, and an air cooler in the family room. The sea was shallow and very clean, breakfast was tasty, and the pantry had everything from a fridge to a toaster and coffee. Overall, it was a lovely experience and I’d happily come back again if I visit Kudat.
