We stayed at the Tjiong townhouse. As guests of a townhouse, we got a complimentary tour of the Blue Mansion by Sally (I hope I'm spelling well her name). We were already delighted with the Blue Mansion and the townhouse but after Sally's enthusiastic sharing of the fantastic history of the Mansion, the life of Cheong Fatt Tze and the principles of Feng Shui we definitely fell in love with the place and Georgetown. We feel privileged and honored for having stayed at the Tjiong and having visited the Blue Mansion for breakfast and swimming pool. Thanks to the love of the conservationists, future generations will be able to experience the magic of these places. We are forever grateful to the people which developed and worked on these projects and to the staff that daily takes very good care of the guests. Thank you!

I was just there for 1 night, so didn't really have a chance to see much, but my location was right beside the Gurney Plaze, - a great Mall. I an staying in Batu Feringghi for 3 months, so will be back in Georgetown often. They seem to have lots of great sites to see & food to enjoy. I ate at the Gurney Mall - lots of great places to eat. I would not like to drive in Georgetown, but hope to figure out the Bus system & get a monthly Bus Pass. I enjoy small tours and just walking around seeing things.

Penang island biggest issue are their traffic.

Penang island biggest issue are their traffic. (Almost everywhere are conjectured) If u are driving, parking lot is the biggest issue. Almost all attractions need to purchase ticket. There's some location are free but might waste time. Anyway I'm a Malaysian & almost 30 years never visit Penang. 1 word from me, "The island traffic are getting worst"

Lovely city. Friendly locals. Fantastic food. Chulia street and the Chew jetty markets were lovely. Penang hill was worth a visit. Do take a tuk-tuk ride.....frightening and yet a great way to see parts of the city. Lots of shopping is recommended......

Not worth visiting.

Not worth visiting. The food isn't good and the place is run down. It seems like this place is overhyped by people who don't know any better. You're better off going to Thailand and experiencing the Peranakan Chinese, Indian, and Malay cultures there.

Loved the clan houses and shop houses. The Jetty is a good hawker centre for food. Don't bother with Fort Cornwallis. Must see the Peranakan Mansion Museum. Must see Kek Lok Si temple - Easy to get to by bus

It's a quaint UNESCO site with lots of hotels, restaurants and bars accompanied by historical and cultural aspects. Shopping is good and things are relatively cheap there. There are many hotels, but you'll need to find one that meets your taste and budget.

A smaller boutique hotel will always win for me over a large hotel. Seven Terraces is just the right size in a perfect location of Georgetown where everything is just a walk away. The staff were very helpful, in particular the lobby staff and a lovely young man who served us in the restaurant and a few breakfasts. Pool was great. Especially sitting alongside eating delicious sweet treats for afternoon tea. Worth visiting the restaurant onsite for dinner. Truly enjoyable.
