great food (buffet) and hotel facilities. beach is clean and beautiful. pool area is great for kids. the hotel barcelo maya palace is one of many hotels on the area. there is so much to do, also sports activities such as mini golf, bowling, tennis, go kart (14 years plus!) only annoying thing: we had to reserve our sun beds at 5.20am (!) to make sure we have a place in the shade for the babies…

Very relaxing atmosphere in the jungle, cabana beautiful, comfortable beds, good sleep, excellent pool and places to chill. Very tranquil place. Staff exceptional, helpful, friendly. Great place to stay longer time than 3 days like we did, The only problem is getting around. Taxis are expensive and charge from every extra move you make, 500 pesos for 10 min drive to the beach. Would highly recommend car rent ( which I realised too late:)), lots of places to go to in the area- nature parks, adventure parks, cenotes. Breakfast at the property really good. Possible to have dinner, which is homemade, drinks during the day. Felt really cared for and would come back 100 percent!

This hotel is not for families, it was way to much noise all...

This hotel is not for families, it was way to much noise all night long drunk people scream in the hallways , our door was nock at 1-3 in the morning woke up our children age 2y, 6y, 8y. The staff were so helpless, unfriendly and rude. Every time we had to eat was so stressful cause the waiters will be so mad and we will ask for things like water they will take for ever to give to us. It was a buffe every time but water wasn’t available or even a spoon. They drop drinks next to ur table they didn’t clean it the whole breakfast we were there, i was so afraid any of us will fall down. Front Thea people never knew the answer. Overall we were so disappointed. It feel like a super cheap hotel, full of a lot of drunk people. I read bad reviews and didn’t payed attention but I wish I did. I’m not happy at all with this hotel experience and I’m not planing to eve go back. The ocean was the only thing was good about our trip.

The beach is public, therefore a bit too many people (especially on weekends). Though not sure if you can find a more private one next to a hotel. Not much for walking as well, only max 2 miles of the beach, after that rocks.

The staff are incredibly hardworking and friendly. The hotel is set within lush natural landscaping which sets this hotel apart from most of the other hotels in the area. The hotel isn’t too big, but has everything you need for a great time within a short walk. The food is consistently really good, with lots of choice to suit most requirements. The beach is quite, with lots of space to sunbath, chill in the shade, swim or do activities.

I book to stay at BARCELO BEACH and I was moved to another hotel. I am Vegetarian I took a vegetarian option at the dinner buffet, but it had meat inside. I ate this food and then I was sick. This is unacceptable and I want to be compensated.

The hotel is beautiful, they have nicely decorated garden, restaurant, parking. Every tent has it’s own terrace. Very quiet and lovely. Beds in our Lodge were wide and comfortable. Every room has air conditioning. Breakfast was lovely.
