This place is exceptional and only short walk to private beach. I can't believe how relaxed this place made us feel so much so we stayed extra night. Only short taxi ride to amazing beach for snorkeling and diving.

The hotel and property were terrific; they were among the best I have ever stayed in. The rooms were excellent and well, and the staff aimed to please. The food was out of this world. The buffet was one of the best I have ever been to. From the fresh fish daily to the fresh tacos.

great food (buffet) and hotel facilities. beach is clean and beautiful. pool area is great for kids. the hotel barcelo maya palace is one of many hotels on the area. there is so much to do, also sports activities such as mini golf, bowling, tennis, go kart (14 years plus!) only annoying thing: we had to reserve our sun beds at 5.20am (!) to make sure we have a place in the shade for the babies…

Well designed and comfortable cabins, superb setting. lovely owners and great service. the breakfast is superb, we loved the coffee and home made yoghurt . Also cleaned our clothes within a day at a very reasonable rate. Close to Akuma beach, where we enjoyed spending the day at Lol Ha.

Perfect location in Akumal. Right in the center of the Pueblo and 2minutes drive to the beach. The owners are a really nice couple who were really helpful, thanks again. The room was perfect with a balcony and private bathroom, and we had a nice little balcony. Our stay was really GREAT!

This hotel is not for families, it was way to much noise all...

This hotel is not for families, it was way to much noise all night long drunk people scream in the hallways , our door was nock at 1-3 in the morning woke up our children age 2y, 6y, 8y. The staff were so helpless, unfriendly and rude. Every time we had to eat was so stressful cause the waiters will be so mad and we will ask for things like water they will take for ever to give to us. It was a buffe every time but water wasn’t available or even a spoon. They drop drinks next to ur table they didn’t clean it the whole breakfast we were there, i was so afraid any of us will fall down. Front Thea people never knew the answer. Overall we were so disappointed. It feel like a super cheap hotel, full of a lot of drunk people. I read bad reviews and didn’t payed attention but I wish I did. I’m not happy at all with this hotel experience and I’m not planing to eve go back. The ocean was the only thing was good about our trip.

The beach is public, therefore a bit too many people (especially on weekends). Though not sure if you can find a more private one next to a hotel. Not much for walking as well, only max 2 miles of the beach, after that rocks.

Beach was beautiful, white sand, palm tree shadows, peace... Before I go I was thinking about sargassum but it was not a problem. Hotel staff claen them up every morning. The animals were surprise to me. As an animal lover it made me extra happy. They are so cute, living between you but do not touch you :) I was in the nature during 5 days. Room cleaning service so good. I did check all shore line hotels before I did book and I can say that it was a right choice. If I go to over there again definitely I will stay at Catalonia Royal tulum.
