Fantastic location with a wonderful view of the sea. The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable, and the room was better than I expected. The hotel had a wonderful restaurant and spa as well.

Friendly, welcoming, helpful staff - from manager to bar staff. Excellent food - very accommodating to my vegan diet, often making things specially and not making me feel awkward. We lucked out on this one. We booked a stay because of its proximity to Piedra Herrada but after our experience, we will genuinely come to Mexico again *just for this place*. Not only were Exiquio and Rosie the most fantastic hosts we've both ever experienced (and quite patient with our not-so-great Spanish), but the hotel itself is situated on some of the most beautiful land I've ever seen. There are trails in back and a guide dog that will take you wherever you need to go--even to the duende tree, a local legend that we at least found to be a bit more fact than fiction. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with the local restaurant--Rosie will be very modest and give you the option of going to the restaurant or eating dinner at the hotel. Her dinner and breakfast were both some of the best food we've had on our entire trip in Mexico. The only thing to be aware of would be that it *is* a "camping" hotel. Expect to be staying in a cabaño. The bathrooms were excellent considering this but it does get chilly at night (although the hosts are very accommodating on this and every other note). Again this isn't a bad thing, in fact it added to the magical experience, but it's something to be aware of.

WE went with one purpose: to see the Monarch Butterflies.

WE went with one purpose: to see the Monarch Butterflies. We were careful to plan our trip to include a sunny day as that is when the Monarchs fly around. If cloudy or overcast they tend to roost in the fir trees and just look like dried leaves. WE had a car so drove to the reserve and took the horses 1/2 way up and walked the rest of the way. The trip was very difficult and I would not recommend it to anyone who has mobility of breathing problems. We were rewarded with seeing thousands of them flying around int he sunshine. An Amazing experience. After the butterflies we returned to our hotel and the next day took it easy, having a massage and going into town to look around. In town there is a very fine crafts museum that is well worth seeing. We stayed one additional day in hopes of visiting some nearby pueblos. However, we were told there were no pueblos so we just wanders around town for another day. We should have cut the trip to 3 days. Warning: the roads in town are narrow, steep, and cobblestone. VERY narrow and difficult to drive over. Take care.

Valle is a great place, I go often.

Valle is a great place, I go often. The only problem right now is that the whole downtown area is under construction. Be aware of this before you go, I am sure once the construction work is done everything will be fine.

Nice hotel in town square.

Nice hotel in town square. Friendly staff, but be careful, someone went through our bags and took money and headphones. Manger just denied it. Police report made but no results. There is no safe in the rooms.

Valle de Bravo is a beautiful place near a forest and a reservoir. The food in the restaurants is very expensive, and the quality isn't always up to par. However, there's a very good culture of customer service. The Bridal Veil waterfall and the Peña viewpoint are very attractive places to visit.

The town itself is beautiful—the climate, the architecture—and visiting the ahuehuete tree is the most beautiful thing, in my opinion. What I liked least was that there are too many people and too many noisy motorcycles. I think the municipality should regulate this issue to respect both tourists and residents, given the excessive noise pollution from bars and motorcycle exhausts.

This place is in a beautiful house about a 10 or 15 minute walk uphill from the zocalo. Despite the description on booking.com, you don't get an apartamento, you get a room in a house. You share a very nice common area, with a well-equipped kitchen. There are 6 rooms in the house. We were the only ones staying there mid-week, so it was great - we had the common area to ourselves, which made this excellent value for Valle de Bravo. If there were other guests staying there it wouldn't be nearly as good.

1) 2-5 min walk to the Centro and around lots of good cafes 2) 7-10 min walk from the famous Lake 3) budget Friend Most Important: I went on 31 Dec 2024 to celebrate a nice small New Year's Eve and to my surprise, the Hostal owner Carlos surprised all of us with a small party with lots of food, drinks and music. It was very touching and even we all had a nice talk till late at night about local culture and about Valle de Bravo

The hotel is really nice. They have someone speaking in English (this helped us a lot) and the guy was really nice. Breakfast was very good. Nice spot for parking. Fresh water dispensers always available. Room was very big and clean. They also provided earplugs for us for the noise from the street.
