We were greeted by our first names by our lovely host Astrid..Later husband Omar came by to ask if all was well, could he do anything for us etc..just lovely. The power of the personal and kind touch! Thank you hosts . And thank you to the environment where we sat for hours on our deck overlooking the pine forests and the cloud forests(!)..while we waited in late afternoon to be enshrouded for an hour or so in our own personal cloud..we became one with it (no we were not on hongos!). Clean comfy a charming mountain retreat - on the side of a mountain overlooking a wondrous valley..oh and the fireplace! WOW! With this amazing painting on top...the evenings are cool..the fire so warm..enjoy your stay here. We know you will.

Mandala hostel is a very special place, especially if you are looking for a quite space and some privacy. It's organic and has a stunning view, as everywhere is San Jose del pacifico. I would definitely go back there.

Super friendly and always available host — early check-in was possible, which was great! The apartment has an excellent location — You need 25 Min to the centre by walk or 5 min with a super cheap tuk tuk. The place was well equipped, and nothing was missing.

The huts are really cosy and the view is amazing. It gets cold at night but you get enough blankets and there is also a fireplace.

The owners were very helpful and welcoming! They had good knowledge of the area, which they shared upon arrival at the property in the form of a little PDF on WhatsApp. They both speak English really well! My partner is quite tall and we really enjoyed the bed being large and it was very comfortable ! We loved the fireplace and enjoyed using the kindling to light it and have the novelty of a fireplace. We loved being able to open the door to the little balcony and see the valley and Forest from the bed int he mornint.

We had an amazing stay with Omar and his wife. They were very friendly, caring, helpful and knowledgeable. The cabins are very cozy and have everything you need. If you want you can get breakfast served in your cabin, so you can enjoy your breakfast in your bed with a stunning view.

Our host Marian was an amazing chef, her cooking was beyond our expectation. We were treated so well by her. She provided us with so much information that we required. Even her dog was our tour guide to the one and a half hour hike to the waterfall.

This place really exceeded our expectations!! The cabin was sooo beautiful and really large (we had two stories with terraces, a furnace and two large beds)! The cabins are super comfortable and very tranquil. The view from the terrace is awesome! Location is remote (about 15-20 min walk to the main street). It wasn’t an issue for us and also means you are staying in the middle of the forest and it’s very quiet! It wasn’t sketchy or anything to get here in the evening. The tuktuks drive all the way to the house. We were able to check in early with a key box 👌
