We love this hotel and town. Great location for hitting all the sites (San Felipe, Las Coloradas, El Cuyo) great views, robubst breakfast included. I had to work everyday and the have great WiFi especially on the rooftop. Sleepy fishing town with great food. We had a car, but could definitely do it without.

Rio Lagartos is a really small fishermen village but the hotel is at the very closest to the pier (like 15 meters). The hotel is a basic one, but in a calm area. When we arrived, we've had our room upgraded (for a biggest one) because they didn't have a lot of clients. Nobody seemed to speak english but that makes the all stuff more authentic. They have 3 cover spots in front of the hotel to park your car. Special mention for the direct relationship with Rick, a fisherman/boat operator (one of the few who speaks english in the town) who can bring you to different private tours in the area (his boat is in front of the hotel). Depending of the hour of the day, you can visit the mangrove with him, or go in a fishing trip or even try to find the crocodile during the night time. Totally worth it.

Yuum Ha Boutique Hotel is located in front of Río Lagartos River. It features tropical-style décor and a furnished balcony with river views.

I stayed in the room Nr.8 with Kingsize bed which had a very beautiful painting on the wall and a balcony with perfect view on the laguna. The hotel is located in a central location to go to restaurants or the central place from Rio Largatos, but still directly at the laguna. In the breakfast-room there are several bird guide books in English and Spanish as the owner is a hobby birdwatcher too. She took me on a tour inland and indicated me several places (cemetery, calle 23 or 25...) for birdwatching to be reached by foot where I shot excellent fotos. Flamingos from 5 meters distance.... At first I took a cheap bird watching boat tour through the lagune but the guide knew very little about birds, but then I booked a second boat tour via the hotel with a certified guide, Paco. More costly - but worth the additional money as the guide indicated many birds I would not have seen without him, even an Pygmy Owl and Green Heron (among 7 other Heron species) and would stop the boat to have time to observe them. As the hotel was just perfect for me, I prolonged my stay to 11 days. Beds had good matraces and rooms were clean. Personel was very friendly.

We got an upgrade for our rooms :) with view to the lagune. The private terrace was huge, to have space to enjoy with your friends.

Excellent location. Had originally booked a basic unit but had problems unlocking/locking the door. Transferred to unit overlooking lagoon - perfecto!

The warm friendly welcome as soon as I arrived. I was made to feel comfortable and safe. I was luckily enough to enjoy lunch with the family in their home too! Location was good - 4 minutes walk to the bus station. All facilities in the room were working perfectly, TV, AC, WiFi, shower etc. Great value for money if you are 2 or more as there was one double bed and a single bed with ample space. I was provided with clean towels and more toilet paper and soap when I extended my stay.
