Cenote Atkan-Baj was the absolute highlight of our Mexico trip close by. Coba ruins on bicycle are a nice way of exploring and while you can interact a little bit with them as a generalisation you are no longer able to climb them. They are devoid of souvenir sellers so I personally enjoyed them more than Chichen-Itza. Lowlight: Highway 109 is not well maintained and we lost a tyre and wheel in one of the craters of potholes - drive slow and case fully if you’re driving

Ruins are amazing, spread out and shaded under trees.

Ruins are amazing, spread out and shaded under trees. You can bike ride and enjoy the breeze. Lots of opportunities for pictures. No breakfast or tea/coffee place close by. Better to tour ruins if you have tour guide. We saw both coba and tulum but our favorite was coba. We ate at local outdoor restaurant within 5 min of our hotel on first night. Hotel we stayed at coba Kaab closes their kitchen by 6 pm and breakfast not till 7:30. Most places in Mexico open later in the mornings. Small stores where you can buy packaged food like cookies, ramen noodles, and fresh fruit. Safe area to walk around close to hotel. Better if you can speak some Spanish with locals. They are very nice. No nightlights so be back at hotel before sun sets. Random dogs in street.. but not rabid or dangerous.. just hungry.

The coba pyramid is the main attraction. there's a small town with a few restaurants and convenience stores. We enjoyed touring Coba, and we loved the Cenotes nearby. The area is very pretty and natural. We took several car trips and enjoyed some peace and tranquility away from the tourist areas. it's not that far from Tulum so we took a few day trips to the beach.

Coba is a quiet peaceful town without the daily hustle and bustle that you find in nearby Tulum. It allows you access to Tulum (45 minutes away), Chichen Itza and Valladolid. You can visit 3 underground cenotes, a ten minute taxi ride away, which are quite different from surface cenotes in many other areas. You can also visit a small Mayan ecological, cultural presevation and education site located in a settlement of four families very near two of the cenotes. It is low key yet very informative. A small meal expertly prepared is available as well as both medicinal and nutritional preparations of honey. It is extraordinary.

This hotel is a small charming oasis with people who treat you like a family. Just amazing! The property itself is very simple, but you'll see a lot of small details and cute local decor. Overall our stay exceeded our expectations. Even though I usually don't expect much from small and not expensive accommodation, but these people stole our hearts and our daughter enjoyed every day the same way we did, and she is usually very picky:) Even towels were replaced daily! Such a rarity in this area!

A simple but excellent hotel for our visit to the Coba ruins and cenotes nearby. A serene hotel on the lagoon with pool and services and minutes walk to the town and ruins. Staff were friendly, beds comfortable, rooms quiet, and pool an asset as it was a bit warmer inland. Highly recommended for a visit to Coba.

Nice room with views on the lake, clean and spacious. A lot of credit to the host Fabian, who is not only very kind and helpful, but also very knowledgeable about the Cobá ruins. He told us a lot of information regarding the history of the old Maya city and its roads. Definitely recommend!

A really nice, modern hotel in the jungles near Coba. My room was spacious, well appointed and I enjoyed the plunge pool. The food was great and the staff were friendly, professional and always available.
