We came to Hotel Playa Laguna Front to unplug, relax, and enjoy the lagoon -- and that's exactly what we did for 5 days. The hotel is in a prime location, sitting at perhaps the most colorful, swimmer-friendly part of the lagoon. You can tell it's a prime spot because a lot of boat tours end around this area to let people swim in the lighter waters there near the cenote. It's also only a couple kms from the town center, so you can easily get into town while still having enough distance from the more touristy center. The hotel itself isn't a fancy upscale place, but that's not what we were looking for. Nonetheless the hotel is new and the facilities are clean/modern with great bathrooms. The hotel is run by a lovely team who were really accommodating...big thanks to the manager Evaristo for always being there to help with any questions. Another great thing is that the kayaks and sup-boards are free to use from 6am to 6pm. The only day you can't use them is on Wednesday when no water activities (other than swimming) are allowed across the lagoon. Wednesdays are conservation days, with inactivity allowing the lagoon to restore itself.

The location is right at the lake shore. The room was big and spacious, with a 'bigger then needed' bathroom, and a porch (ground floor balcony) which is the entrance to the room and it is facing the lake. This is somewhat a positive and a negative feature, since there is a great view to the lake, but also the whole room is directly exposed to be viewed by others. There is a great common area, a wooden dock with a hut, a semi-open bar/kitchen, an outside water cooler, a short pebbled entrance way that adds to the nice atmosphere to the hotel. It is really great that there are 4 kayaks that can be taken for free to explore the lake.

Absolutely lovely place with such kind and lovely owners. It was very homely and comfortable, while not feeling like we were in somebody else's space. We loved that there was a stove, oven, microwave, fridge and coffee machine in the communal area. It felt a bit like a hostel, except that the crowd was very mixed in age and also included families. We stayed in Mexico for four weeks and this was our favourite place.

The location is absolutely amazing and so are the staff. We couldn't speak Spanish and the staff were extremely accommodating. They set up a WhatsApp group which makes everything extra smooth. The staff were helpful in booking taxis (and translating our needs for various stops to the drivers). Highly recommend availing of the kayaks (free) and jet ski to see more of the lagoon. We walked along a lot of the lagoon and visually seemed to be by far the best location to stay.

The place is very new and clean. The bed was good. The lady who gave us the key doesn't speak English but was very friendly. AC was working very well. There is no reception desk, just a person maintaining the rooms, so remember to bring the exact cash. It's a 30 minutes walk away from the center, so better come with a car.

Beautiful property right on the lake with tasteful design and two pool areas. You can jump from the pier into the lake and have dinner on the waterfront. We loved our Lakeview room and had breakfast on the terrace each morning. The food was incredible and our highlight! Each meal was a theatrical experience and the staff go above and beyond. We loved that the steak is cooked right in front of you on a hot salt slab.
