We had a lovely stay at Karankaa Villa. We arrived very early without notice but were welcomed very well and also they let us do a very late checkout as there were no other guests. When we arrived he gave us very good information about where to snorkel and where to go. We did what he said and we saw two eagle rays!! We went on a nurse shark excursion with the host that he arranged for us and we had plenty of time there (no rush). It was amazing. He took videos and photos for/of us and we had a great time! Also other excursions were possible and he sent us a photo with a list of them and their prices. Also the breakfast is very generous, you won't be hungry afterwards :) I also really liked the place, there is like an 'outdoor area' where we had a picnic and it is very cosy. We did not do it but they say that if the guests want, they can provide access to the kitchen. I fully recommend this place and would love to come back.

Super nice traditional Maldivian breakfast, very nice and kind staff and local people, handy and available. The guy working there was really a point of reference for us, always available and eager to help and organise tour and activities at a super competitive price! I strongly advise to take tours with the Guest House staff.. Location is perfect. You can reach easily and fast every part of the island, tourist-beach and restaurants are close, many small shops and markets are super close too.

Very nice and clean hotel, conveniently located close to bikini beach. Its beautiful terrace allows you to eat with a view of the sea. The kindness and helpfulness of the staff and their ability to meet our needs and fulfil our wishes made our stay at Vilu Thari Inn perfect. To the island Mahibadhoo we have came by the speed boat from the capital (35$ per person). Beautiful 5 days there. Perfect weather, friendly people, more developed island than the north Island Dharavandhoo but each island is specific on their own way, have different beaches, new food to try:) Compared to the northern island Dharavandhoo, the Mahibadhoo has cusine more oriented to tourist so they mixed local cuisine with continental and it was really good, not spicy (but only if you ask them), always fresh fish and big portions hehe The hotel offers different external activities and we have chosen scuba diving which was really great. First we had like a small lecture by the mentor named Frutti and later we left with him for diving. The cigarettes are like 7 euros, and we couldn't find local fresh juices like in the North but the beaches are more beautiful and highly recommended to bring your equipment for snorkeling but even if you forget the hotel will borrow it without the problem:) Paying - in general be careful everywhere in Maldives to pay with new bills because specifically in the capital Male they won't accept old bills like the bills before 2010! In the South 1 dollar is 10 Maldivian rufiyaa whilst in the North is 15 rufiyaa. Don't know why is that, but they accept without the problem dollars, accept rufiyaa and if you like credit card I truly recommend to get a Revolut card because it has the best rate and you will actually pay the real price no conversion or provision will be added! Finally, as we were there during the Christmas that have prepared for us a special dinner at the beach and it was really something:)

We have been on two local islands - Omadhoo and Hangnmeedhoo. I found Omadhoo a better place to stay, and this guesthouse, too. The owner spoke very good English (rather unusual in Maldives) and was super helpful. His first words were: 'no worries, take your time'. And it came out to be very true - no worries we had! And we had a great time there! Some highlights: a very good breakfast, a good lunch (hint: do not expect too much on a tiny island in underdeveloped country, it is not a resort). The owner offered to rent us snorkelling equipment at no cost. He showed us the best snorkelling spots, the tourists beach, explained the water current, the local rules and customs (remember that you arrived to a very conservative muslim country), warned about the sun (do not underestimate the sun rays!) I described not only the hotel but some of the the island features as well, because in so small neighbourhood everything is connected.

We had the most wonderful stay at this family-owned hotel on Omadhoo! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for. The staff are incredibly kind. They organised our transfer from the airport to the island, picked us up from the pier and also drove us to the pier at 6:30 in the morning. The rooms were clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. I especially enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the island, and the hotel’s location made it easy to explore Omadhoo. The hotel is right next to the pier where the locals feed the sharks and sting rays in the evening. The walk to the bikini beach is around 8 mins by foot. Breakfast was more than enough and delicious. If you're looking for an authentic local experience in a beautiful, quiet island setting, I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you for the hospitality!

Peaceful Paradise on Omadhoo! This beautiful new guesthouse on the stunning local island of Omadhoo is a true gem! Thoughtfully designed with great attention to detail, it offers every comfort you could wish for, including a lovely outdoor shower and a peaceful atmosphere. The location is perfect, close to Bikini Beach and everything else you might need. The hosts are incredibly kind and helpful, assisting with transport and organizing activities. I felt warmly welcomed from the very first moment. One of the highlights was the breakfast served right on the beach. Nothing was missing, it was simply perfect!
