There was a lot of space for 3 people and it would be enough for four people too for a few days. It was clean. The staff was nice. The living room and bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. It's easy to park a car in front in the street. It is very close to the waterfront, the main street with lots of shop, and 2 grocery stores at walking distance.

we stayed our last night in Mauritius here and it was truly perfect. The beautiful pool by the sea, the room, the towels, the breakfast, the staff. our flight wasn’t leaving until late in the evening and we could stay by the pool and relax and use their shower facility, so nice!

The host very good hearted human being. Very helpful and passionate about his work, not as a business but as a Service. We stayed for one night at his place, but offered transport to the other hotel. Offered to be available to help us should we struggle with transport. Has happily taken us for a tour to some places of interest in Mauritius. I relocated here for a day to stay closer to the airport, having come from Bel Ombre—a remarkably scenic area that is a must-visit for travellers. However, Bel Ombre has very few restaurants, most of which are expensive and widely scattered, making it challenging without private transport. Without a car, our experience was quite difficult—until we finally rented one. In contrast, Mahébourg is far more tourist-friendly, offering numerous dining options and a pleasant seaside setting all within walking distance. Surprisingly, the overall costs were considerably cheaper than Bel Ombre

Mahebourg is a vibrant transport hub. The people are friendly and eager to assist in finding places and any needed information. The market is a must visit. I ate at the market food stalls and at Bo'Valon Mall.

The town offers a more authentically local atmosphere than beach resorts, although admittedly there is no beach on this part of the Mauritian coast, so the area attracts a different kind of traveller. It is a rather run-down place but has considerable charm. The waterfront is a lovely (if windy) area to stroll around and the town has some interesting historical attractions - also a few kilometres away, in Vieux Grand Port, the site of the first landing on the island (by the Dutch, in 1598). One matter to be aware of concerns going out for dinner in the town. There are plenty of restaurants in the central area, many of them very welcoming and with very good food, however: - the streets are very poorly lit after dark, resulting in considerable stretches where a torch/phone light is useful; - most streets have no pavements, or very uneven/poor quality pavements where they do exist, so you have to walk in the road - watch your step and beware traffic that rushes past, often very suddenly (however, the local drivers are good at swerving to avoid pedestrians)! - unnervingly, there are large numbers of dogs roaming around on the streets - this seems to be the case all over Mauritius, even in the capital, albeit to a lesser extent. By day they are very placid and tend to shy away from people, but after dark they are often uncomfortably territorial and can be aggressive.

Mahébourg has a beautiful waterfront.

Mahébourg has a beautiful waterfront. I prefer the modern part of the city versus the downtown area which has narrower streets. Historical Mahébourg Museum is worth visiting. Don’t forget the delicious Biscuits Manioc!

A lovely, underrated town in the less touristy South.

A lovely, underrated town in the less touristy South. We only spent one day there, basically to shorten the trip to the airport the next morning, but we discovered several little gems. My one complaint - it could do with some live sega music. We will definitely spend a few more days there on our next trip.

The city is not beautiful.

The city is not beautiful. It is good for accomodation and making trips from the base. There is no nice bar where to go for a drink during evening. There are some good restaurants and nice market. I would recommend to stay in Blue Bay if you can find affordable accomodation there.

The breakfast provided by the hostess was adequate - a selection of fresh bread, fruit, eggs, coffee and tea.The location of the hotel was very good - near the Waterfront, next to the big market and the bus station in the center. They also offer a transfer from the airport to the hotel and back at a good price. The hostess Sylviana is exceptionally kind, gives many good recommendations for attractions and the best places to eat. A very beautiful swimming beach is located about a 15-minute bus ride away (bus no. 46 Blue Bay).

A very chill and nice place to stay. The staff was nice and helpful with recommendations and booking activities. The room was big with a lovely ocean view. I liked that they served breakfast, because there was not alot of places to eat in the area. It was easy to catch a bus right outside the hotel to go to blue bay beach and very close to the airport. If you are staying in mahebourg on a budget i would recommend staying here.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and always ready to help, which made me feel very welcome. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. Communication with the staff was excellent, and they made everything very easy.
