We stayed at Azur Paradise for two nights with my best friend. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with a welcome drink and a cold towel at the reception, which was a nice touch considering the warm weather. The check-in process felt friendly, but our immediate next impression was that the hotel has quite a lot of rules. After filling out the usual guest information form, as expected everywhere, we were also given an A4 sheet listing the hotel’s rules, which we had to sign.
The hotel is entirely non-smoking, which is great for non-smokers who don’t have to worry about cigarette smoke from neighboring balconies. However, as we do smoke, we found it a bit inconvenient that smoking wasn’t allowed even on our own balcony. That said, the rooms don’t seem to have full balconies, but rather French-style ones. Our room on the 3rd floor had a stunning view of the bay, which we really appreciated. For smokers, there are designated areas at the SkyBar on the rooftop and near the pool at street level.
The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the staff is extremely friendly. Both the small pool near the reception on the ground floor and the SkyBar restaurant on the rooftop are lovely places to relax. The location is excellent, with all essential services and the beach nearby. A larger shopping mall, a big grocery store, a self-service laundry, and other conveniences are within a 10-minute walking distance. A car is not necessarily needed here.

Grand Baie has everything that is required for a perfect stay. The supermarket and beach were within walking distance. The bus service was excellent and there were a multitude of eateries in the area ... the only criticism that we have is the manic traffic!!!

A small, pretty boutique style mid range hotel.
A small, pretty boutique style mid range hotel. Great location on a beautiful stretch of beach. Lovely swimming pool and communal areas are nicely styled with airy elegant design. Low rise buildings that are well presented and well maintained and look like they were relatively recently refurbished.
Parking for residents. Decent breakfast and dinner buffet, perfectly adequate for the cost point.

Many shops for tourists as well as local take aways and shops. Be careful when shopping - 1st get a feel of prices before you buy. I purchased a shirt just to find it later at almost half the price! Great Super U supermarket with everything and more you can need. The conuts on the beach by the stalls are of the best priced on the island (150 m/rupees for a big one - some other beaches charges 300 m/rupees). Plenty of restaurants and bars to eat and have a drink - but do check prices as it is on the more expensive side and varies alot. The beach has really nice sand.

The Variety of Restaurants is great.
The Variety of Restaurants is great. The different options for lunch and dinner. If one does not want to eat in restaurants, he can certainly find some great meals on the beach.
Grand Baie is really easy... by foot preferably. No Stress.
Beach Time, water sports and during our stay in GB, at there were different activities proposed at the commercial center during the day and concerts at night at Mc Do Super U and La Croisette.

Overall a good hotel but there are some key features they need to improve on.
1, The price on some items are way out there like their taxi booking, booking.com offer 25 euro and from them its 60 euro. we can understand maybe 20-30% topup but not 120%. its not about the amount but as matter of principal. also their private fishing tour cost 28000 their own money which around 2200 dirham or 600 dollars. the reason as per them is the fuel cost and i we understand the fuel cost is a bit high but it felt a bit to high for some hours of fishing. on the other hand they did have a 30min free shallow fishing for small fishes.
2, The Beds and sheets where an absolute disaster, for a hotel on this caliber we could not understand how they have not managed to buy some proper bed mattress and sheets, it was almost impossible to sleep, the bed mattress had totally lost its shape and were bend in the middle so we woke up multiple tiles during night and the sheets were of the cheapest quality and where making sound when we moved around.
3, the Pool was one of the best pools i have seen in any hotel, seating around the pool with bed in the water.
4, the personal were really nice and polite.
5, the hotel location is good and relaxing
6, they had some free water actives like snorkeling, shallow fishing, kayaking, etc
Overall a good hotel but have space to improve.

Location is good. This is Mauritius. It is located behind the Police station. It is not a resort. It is a normal apartment building. But it was clean and nice inside the room. We had a good time. We only slept there. The rest of the time we were outside, next to the beach, visiting restaurants or shops. There is a shared balcony which we also enjoyed. Apartment is close to everything you will ever need.
The layout of the apartment was good. Very spacious. The television and surround sound was state of the art. The breakfast and dinner had a large variety. The pool was relaxing. There are two shopping malls within walking distance....which made it very convenient. Glad that I included meals in my package as Mauritius has become extremely expensive.
The apartment is very clean, had everything thing I needed and is in an excellent location. Wendy is the perfect host. I will certainly stay here again when I come back to Mauritius and have no hesitation in recommending to family, friends and anyone who reads this review 😊
Both the owner and the manager are educated and well experienced in hospitality industry. They know a lot about Mauritius. If they have time don't miss the chance to chat with them.
