I wish I could rate 20 out of 10, such amazing was this place! Burgeoning colourful little coral reef just some 20 meters from the beach, own hotel minizoo feat friendly giant tortoises, horses, rabbits...,, own boathouse offering free kayaks,,, plus complimentary electric taxis within 25 ha resort premises, amazing food, luxury room... Very nice detail which I did appreciated was the departure lounge: after check-out you can wait by the pool for your transfer and then use shower in the lounge. Everything really beyond expectations!

It was the most peaceful stay I had in my life - booked the resort for family while I had to attend to work commitments and it was worth the choice. It is a peaceful, well-curated place, a beautiful and tranquil place to reset. We didn't have to worry about anything, even got a breakfast bag at 5am before I jumped on my airport shuttle to return home. The Oberoi staff really go all the way to attend to the guests' needs in every detail, the rooms are spacious, harmonious and comfortable, service and cleaning are impeccable. So I would return in the blink of an eye.

Very good value for money. Very helpful staff, especially the cleaning guy Zabeer kept our room super clean and was very polite. Amazing breakfast with more than enough options for everyone. The omelettes were amazing. Keep up the good work.!!

The staff were super attentive and attended to our every need. Kids club staff were especially good and my two kids had a blast. Food was buffet style and changed every night which was a treat. Loved every minute there.

I had a wonderful experience at the Intercontinental. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went above and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable, especially Ramesh, who was highly accommodating and pleasant. He was always available, constantly making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. There were great restaurants within walking distance, with great food and ambience. I highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Mauritius; I will definitely stay there when I come back!

The apartment was very spacious, with a kitchen, living room, TV, bedroom, and bathroom. Everything was functional. The Wi-Fi was excellent and strong enough for both working and streaming. The hosts were also very friendly.

The staff really exceeded our expectations. They were always taking care of us even for the smallest things. They also organise excursions, restaurants suggestions and reservations and sometimes they organise Mauritian dinner (very good!!!). The breakfast buffet was rich and various with many options (sweet and savory) and a lot of fruits. The swimming pool was always clean. Additionally, they have a night guard providing a big sense of security. Private parking is available.

Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which...

Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which suited us perfectly. It consists mostly of vegetable fields, forests and small hamlets. The coast is getting developed with hotels but each is keeping its space so it doesn't feel crowded. You need to rent a car or get a taxi to visit the nearest town, Pamplemousses. There you have the old sugar factory, botanical gardens and a very pleasant shopping mall with a food supermarket.

Although it was very hot and humid but there always was a cooling breeze along the coast. Couldn`t fault the staff, always very friendly an helpful and the room service was excellent, clean and efficient. We were not a young couple (in out 70s and 80s) and preferred to stay and enjoy the restful facilities of the resort. We could see that young couples with children were having a good time and were more likely to travel around the island in the heat.

Balaclava is remote so no opportunity to walk anywhere.

Balaclava is remote so no opportunity to walk anywhere. We were fine with a good dinner and the occasional musician but some might find it boring. We used a driver but if not then you’d need a car to get round the island. It was cyclone season so mixed weather but in general the North of the island has drier sunnier weather than the South.

wonderful and chearful resort design, I liked it so much.

wonderful and chearful resort design, I liked it so much. there are free and paid activities it is very good for families. 12 minutes from seewoosagur ramgoolam botanic garden and 15 minutes from port luis by taxi. there are 2 resturants and bar on the beach, there is delicious hot snack bufffet ( 4 - 5 pm).

We had booked for bed n breakfast and during check-in the person at the desk suggested we take half-board for the dinner for 3 nights. This included dinner at 3 different restaurants within the hotel. However, we noticed that the menu for half-board is limited and it was much much cheaper had we ordered and paid for alacarte. I informed this during checkout and advised them not to fool people this way.

Beautiful grounds and great facilities. The staff are exceptional in all areas of the hotel. Selvana was our check in host. She arranged for a cake for my husbands birthday and they arranged for us to moor our boat on their jetty for the night. The room was lovely and quiet. The food was good too.
