This small hotel is very clean, comfortable and the location is perfect. Quiet but close to restaurants and beaches. The hotel staff (three people) are super nice! Those are the kind of people you always want to meet when travelling. Northern Malta (Mellieha) is the place to be: Nice beaches and just one hour away by bus from Valletta and Mdina (highly recommended to visit).

I have stayed in many hotels but This is the first time I bothered and managed to leave a review for good service from a hotel. It’s in a quiet, secluded and peaceful area. Though it’s not in center but that’s the main reason I went there , to be far away from noise. The breakfast is one of the best I have had from any hotel. Furthermore, you could order the breakfast to your room for a fee of €4 but i preferred going downstairs to eat. Parking was in an open space not scary underground, though €3 a day parking is cheap but they could make it free since there are free public parking spaces around the hotel , it’s safe to park anywhere in malta anyways. There is also private access to sandy beach, it says it’s a private beach but I do not know if it’s really private. There is great value for money and I will always go back there again. The service was Amaizing as compared to the service and amenities and Hilton malta. The staff are 😍, it’s a rally cool place.

Great hotel! We arrived at night and were warmly welcomed — the staff explained everything and showed us around. There were two bottles of water waiting in the room, and the cool air from the air conditioner made it feel very comfortable right away. The room was cleaned daily: the bed was made, and fresh towels were provided. There’s a cozy little balcony with two chairs, a small table, and a drying rack for clothes. I also appreciated the large wardrobe with plenty of hangers, a hairdryer, and even clothespins — very thoughtful details. Another nice touch was the power adapters that were already available in the room. There’s a great kitchen and a rooftop lounge area, perfect for relaxing. The hotel also offers a laundry room and an iron, which was very convenient. You can even borrow umbrellas for the beach free of charge — a lovely bonus. I was very happy with the apartment — everything was comfortable, convenient, and pleasant. Thank you!

If you want to be close to the most beautiful beaches —...

If you want to be close to the most beautiful beaches — Golden Bay and Paradise Bay — Mellieħa is the right place to stay. Everything is nearby, including the port for the ferry to Gozo Island. In the evenings, you can take a walk along Marina Bay, where you’ll find many different restaurants and a lovely atmosphere. If you visit St. Paul’s Bay, we highly recommend the restaurant La Stalla — the food is delicious and the service is excellent.

Although I have been to Mellieha before and it has changed...

Although I have been to Mellieha before and it has changed enormously in the last 25 years, I think it is still one of the most charming parts of Malta. There are dozens of bars and restaurants, a fair few of which I have visited and every one was excellent. I could not fault the village in any way I would certainly recommend this as a holiday destination. Although very hilly, I believe that is part of its charm and I have stayed in other parts of Malta, all of which have their own attraction.

We used Mellieha as a base for travelling around the rest of Malta - it's handy because there's a nice beach there (if that's your thing) and plenty of eating places. There are boat trips and water sports available from the bay. In terms of local attractions, there are a couple of museums and St. Agatha's Tower is worth a visit (visible from the bay at the top of the hill). We visited in June, and would recommend you don't leave it later than that - the heat would be excessive in July and August. Architecturally, Mellieha is a real mix (like the rest of Malta), with a mixture of ancient buildings and modern high rise apartments / flats, catering for tourists. Not always easy on the eye, but as we were tourists ourselves, can't really complain :-)

The Solana Hotel is hands down THE best hotel in Malta - The staff is incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful, in every department. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated with bathrobes, fruits and chocolates. The food in Prickly Pear and Bellini Restaurant was amazing, it tasted great and fresh! Thank you, thank you, thank you Solana <3 Special thanks to Faye, Aleksandra, Shyrr, Ben and Janet from the Front Desk, Sandip from Housekeeping and Mariana from Bellini - You made our stay perfect! The hotel is in a great location, with our room overlooking Mellieħa’s beautiful church, Għadira/Mellieħa Bay, as well as the neighbouring islands of Comino and Gozo. Close to local restaurants, amenities, attractions (the WW2 shelters are a must visit!) and close to public transport links. The staff are friendly and helpful, the inside and outside areas are kept clean and well presented. Two small(ish) outside pools, one small indoor pool and Spa area with sauna. Enough sun beds for everyone :)

A very nice, clean, and comfy apartment. It has all the equipment to feel like home while in Malta. The hosts & staff are super-nice, kind, and easy to communicate with. Also, Mellieħa and the apartment's location inside Mellieħa is top choice — we wouldn't want to be anywhere else and you can easily reach the rest of Malta and Gozo from there, without having to deal with the madness of the capital city.

The hotel has everything, from spa and several pools, to bars that serve amazing cocktails at a fair price. The view from the rooms into the Melliha Bay (and Comino) is awe inspiring. The staff were really helpful and friendly, the room was big and inviting, and all together made my stay in Malta a great experience.
