The house is truly amazing! If you want to experience staying in a traditional Maltese home, this place is a must. It’s not a modern apartment — instead, it’s a beautiful, authentic Maltese house full of charm, unique character, stylish furniture, and lovely paintings. Almost every room has its own balcony. The house has real soul, and we genuinely loved staying there. Facilities & Cleanliness The house is very well-equipped, including a washing machine, which was great since we were traveling with hand luggage only. Our kids loved the board games, beach toys, and even the little fishing net available in the house. Everything was clean, and we didn’t see a single insect. If someone mentioned cockroaches before, they probably didn’t follow the house rules (like not leaving food or waste in the kitchen). We had absolutely no issues. There is also an electricity meter with prepaid credit. We treated it like a fun challenge to see if we could stay within the limit — and we did, with credit left over. Don’t worry about it; it's simply a smart way to avoid wasting electricity, which we fully support. Host & Check-in Stephen was an amazing host. Although we didn't meet in person, communication through Booking and WhatsApp was quick and efficient. The key code was sent when we arrived, and we were welcomed with a generous food package (bread, butter, cheese, ham, milk, juice, etc.). After a late-evening arrival and a 3-hour flight, this was a wonderful surprise and very much appreciated — Thank you! Location The location is excellent — close to everything: sandy beach, children’s playground, minimarkets, restaurants, bus stop with direct connections to the airport. Overall We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend this house to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable Maltese experience!

The room has AC which is a must have in Malta during summer. The old couple running the rental are very helpful and will give good advice, you can buy cold water bottles from them if you forgot to do in the grocery shop.

Manuel was very helpfull with everithyng, he let us stay even longer because we had a flight a night... We really like the terrace. Kids were very happy with playground outside just across the street... The beach was also very nice... Everything is just as on pictures...

Not your normal seaside holiday resort.

Not your normal seaside holiday resort. The freeport as a back drop can be a bit of a shock but is soon overlooked. The Village is quaint with ample facilities, but not the place for people looking for nightlife. Lovely. Great time had by all our family.

The town is well situated and easy to access from the...

The town is well situated and easy to access from the airport. Buses are regular, so other parts fo the island are easily accessible. There is a small sandy bay which is great for families. They have life savers, a wheelchair ramp down to the water, water buggy and chair lift for the disabled. There is a wide, modern promenade which includes sporting and exercise facilities, a stage and restaurants dotted around this area. The restaurants hardly offer traditional/typical maltese food (burger, pasta and pizza was the on offer everywhere) and the night life is non existent. The available facilities are not used to their full potentional sadly.

We live on Gozo and carry Malta Resident ID cards but do truly enjoy visiting Birzebbuga two or three times a year , It is close to the Malta International Airport but has a more Maltese feel that many other tourist destinations on the Island. Excellent restaurants, safe beaches and easy access to Valletta and many spectacular historic locations. However if you are reading this with the intent of visiting the Maltese Islands, do also try to visit our own home Island of Gozo, It is very different from Malta,

It's a typical little Maltese town.

It's a typical little Maltese town. We found it interesting watching the cargo ships being loaded. No big supermarkets but lots of little shops. Covo ,Dar is sajjied and District Five restaurants were fine dining but the other restaurants on the beach served excellent quality food.

Birżebbuġa itself is an ok place, nice walks through the...

Birżebbuġa itself is an ok place, nice walks through the park and on the beach and ie you like looking at large container ships unloading cargo, (Pretty bay is a free port) it's the place for you . The only thing I would recommend about Birżebbuġa the warm water of the beach (the beach is full of cigarette buttes and litter) and the public bus leaving Birżebbuġa (it's only 2.50 euro anywhere and you can use the same ticket within 2 hours on any public bus) You may enjoy Birżebbuġa because it has a beach there aren't many sandy beaches in Malta. I do not give Pretty Bay apartments as good a rating as Booking.com it's a lot worse.

We had a wonderful time in Birżebbuga. The apartment was big, perfect for our group of 8. It was cozy and clean. The apartment was well-equipped, it had everything we needed. A great thing was that the AC was in every room, so we could withstand the hot weather in Malta. I was in contact with the owner the whole time, he was very helpful. I definitely reccomend this apartment!

The hotel was located by the beach and it was easily to commute to other towns from the hotel by using a bus. The hotel is modern and cozy. We loved the breakfast as it included lots of sweet and savoury options every day. Definitely worth the money we’ve paid.
