Marrakesh is an assist on the senses .

Marrakesh is an assist on the senses . The Jewish centre is amazing for herbalists and spices ,full of life and colour ,genuine local people ,not pushy and happy to see you . Shop there for oils, coffee ,spices as much cheaper and they grind them up in front of you ,amazing . The medina is something to behold but the noise levels are off the scale and to much after awhile . It’s expensive and they’re quite rude in the stores if you want to haggle the prices down and will literally tell you to get out if they don’t like your offer … very rude That aside explore the city away from the centre because it’s a cultural explosion

A beautiful vibrant city full of life.

A beautiful vibrant city full of life. We loved the local cuisine and especially msemmen - the pancakes. The Jemaa el-Fna square is full of people throughout the whole day. Music, dancing, performances... The fresh juices are a must.

Marrakech can feel chaotic at first, especially in the old...

Marrakech can feel chaotic at first, especially in the old town where you meet all kinds of street vendors and the usual small hustlers. But overall, both the city and the medina felt safe and surprisingly welcoming. The city goes quiet around midnight, which is great if you’re not into loud nightlife or drinking. There’s no special attitude toward non-locals — tourists are treated with calculated respect, and even the hustlers try to avoid real trouble. Reputation matters here. The city is alive, real, and not pretending to be something it isn’t. It’s tourist-oriented, but locals actually live and work here, so you can fully experience Moroccan culture. The best food we had was fish — all the fancy spots failed to impress, while local places were the winners. We even took home a tea set after falling in love with their tea culture. There’s plenty of trade, sometimes with confusing prices, and transport is the only thing that can really stress you out. If you rent a car, get full coverage — no question about it.

I travelled solo, I am a 39year old female from Ireland.

I travelled solo, I am a 39year old female from Ireland. Yes I was nervous, but I never had any issues-everyone I met was very friendly and helpful. I even ended up having lunch with a local lady who is moving back from France, we had alot in common and she ended up showing me real Morocco for the weekend, and we will now be friends for life. I am so lucky and grateful I had such a wonderful experience.

It was our first trip to Marrakech and for the first 2 days it felt like full on assault of the senses. So busy. The sights, colours, smells, food, heat, sounds and hustle and bustle of it. It felt really jarring to begin with.. but once we settled in it was such a fantastic place to enjoy. Beware of people taking you to the Berber market or the tannery- Avoid, it's a scam. Use getyourguide for some really excellent experiences- Hot air balloon, camel rides, cookery classes. Beware of city tours that involove a visit to the local herbalist store.. it looks great but it's overpriced! At first you have no idea the worth or price of things, we used the Ensemble Artisanal where they have set prices. It gives you an idea of the general prices of things before you start your own bargaining. Look at loads of things before buying.. the quality varies massively! and dont forget to just walk away if someone quoted too high, its all part of the experience but it can get very wareing after a while

The design was curated to the finest details. Lots of beautifully selected artwork displayed all around. The comfort and level of service were unprecedented for a facility in Marrakech, even compared to other 5 star hotels. This will be the place to go back to for us. The food they have on offer was also beyond the best expectations. The masseuses are really good and definitely worth a booking (we ended up booking them every day of our stay for how good they were).

Luxurious hotel room with large jacuzzi and fabulous view of the magnificent hotel garden. Adults only all inclusive. Pools heated in the winter months. Fabulous food and a variety of entertainments. Cheerful helpful staff. An oasis in the middle of old Marrakesh. Easy access to the Medina and souks just a few minutes walk away. Highly recommend.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. We came from Ireland and I actually thought we had booked a 5 star hotel as it was our honeymoon. I was worried when it was four star that it wouldn't be as special but it just left us wondering how it wasn't five star? It is more beautiful than any of the 5 star hotels we have stayed in in Ireland.

This isn’t a 5 star hotel, I would say more 3 star but with 5 star pricing. So dated and old. Why people would pay to come here over the Sofitel over the road is beyond me. Especially for the same price
