Beautiful architecture, lots of green spaces, fairly compact. I participated in two free walking tours (an old town one and an art nouveau one) and both were great. If you're in Riga for just a couple of days, as it was the case with me, this is an excellent way to see and learn a lot.

Riga is a very attractive city with a picturesque Old Town and a newer area which includes many beautiful Art Nouveau buildings. There are many nice parks and green spaces. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants and prices are reasonable. As well as Latvian and Russian, English is widely spoken. Public transport - buses and trams - is very efficient and inexpensive. Walking around is easy though many areas in the Old Town are cobbled and might prove difficult for some. One hazard is people travelling around very fast on e-scooters that are almost silent and can rush up behind you without warning.

Riga is a very photogenic city.
Riga is a very photogenic city. The buildings are gorgeous and there are some great surprises when you explore on your on. I never take an organized tour.
Plenty of restaurants.
I cooked in most of my meals.
But the food in the city is very good.
Walk the Riga Canal! Always beautiful no matter what time of year.
I personally like "Lido" which is near the beautiful Orthodox church.
It has been a favorite since my first visit to Riga.

Just walking around you find the most amazing things, such as a free cello recital at St Peter's Cathedral. Incredible food at such amazing prices. People are just lovely. So easy to walk around, scooter or cycle.
Nice modern hotel in excellent location opposite train station, large shopping mall and edge of picturesque Riga Old Town. A number of bars and restaurants in close proximity and none of the key sights were very far to walk to. Room was clean and nicely furnished. Plentiful hot water and a powerful shower. Cheap mini-bar prices. Spa area was compact but sufficient and treatments reasonably priced. The offer of Prosecco at breakfast was a nice touch. Good coffee.
Hotel Viktorija is in a great location, in easy walking distance of the centre and old town and well served by public transport. The staff are really friendly and helpful, our room was warm, comfortable and quiet and very well kept by the cleaning staff. We had a nice view from our room, and there is a cosy bar and lounge on the ground floor. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, bars and supermarkets in the area, in a fun and vibrant part of Riga. Loved it!
The hotel is in walking distance from the old town and the city center. There are two shopping malls close by, as well as the train and bus stations, and the market. It is right next to one of Riga's landmarks - the Science Academy building, from the top of which you can get a great view of the city. The rooms are alright, all the basic needs are provided. It's a decent value for money, if you don't set your expectations too high.
We got a really great deal on the hotel and to be honest I had fairly low expectations - expected the room to be a little on the "tired" side. Everything turned out to be great and in a really good state (at least in the room and on the floor we got). We wanted to stay in the city center (as opposed to Old Town) for a change, and the location was great for that - right next to all the Art Nouveau buildings.
The appartment was super cosy, clean, you have everything for a comfortable stay. The old town is near by, bars, restaurants, shopping malls, parks, the city market.
It was very pleasant to come back "home" after a long day in the city, to a warm bath. The stuff was available on wats app, and very helpful in everything.
Thank you, if we are back to Riga, you are our place to stay!
We loved this hotel. It is in a great location for visiting all the sites in the Old Town in Riga. The staff and service are fantastic could not do enough for you. We arranged for a transfer from and to the airport through reception which was great. The hotel photos do not do the hotel any justice, it makes it look dated, however the hotel is amazing! I would highly recommend
Excellent location, right in the old town where all the action is. Lively nightlife in the area of the hotel, full of bars and clubs. Amazing breakfast selection, one of the best I've seen. Couldn't wait to get up in the morning to have breakfast. Wonderful spa with sauna, cold water bucket, warm swimming pool, jacuzzi. Friendly and helpful staff. Good WiFi. Affordable prices.
The hotel is located 2 minutes from the city center , in front of the river and in walking distance from the main attractions in the old town.
the breakfast was good.
the hotel is located in front of bus no. 22 that can take you to/from the airport in 20 minutes and you can avoid paying 25-30 euro for taxi when you can pay 2 euro for the bus.
Good hotel for good price. The location was great! In the middle of the old town of Riga and close to a lot of sightseeing and restaurants. Everything was on walking distance. Also the bus to/from the airport. The room was clean and had everything you could need for a short citytrip including a minibar. Breakfast was varied.
Nice hotel to explore Riga. Old town is a 15 minute walk, but lots of great restaurants nearby. The room was large, with fridge, AC and a large bathroom. The lady managing it was super friendly, let me in early so that I could keep my bags. There is none at the reception sometime, but the call button at the door works.
My second stay here. It’s very well located hotel for exploring Riga. We were upgraded to a 14 floor room with view of the old town which was spectacular. Room was clean, comfortable and a baby crib was provided for free. Parking was very easy and discounted as a guest of the hotel. The breakfast was also really good.
Hestia Hotel Draugi was perfect for our short stay in Riga. The breakfast was really good and so was our room. Small but perfect for our needs. It's in the old town, thus within walking distance from every main attraction. We would definitely recommend it!
Loved this hotel.
Location was right in the centre of Riga's beautiful old town so was easy to get around.
Friendly staff and good breakfast and
the room was large, clean and had all the facilities you could wish for.
Would happily stay here again.
The best thing about Ibis Riga Centre hotel was the location close to the bus station, Origo mall, all the lovely parks and the old town. Room was big enough for one person and it seemed clean as well. Breakfast was versatile and quite okay.
Beautiful small, 16 room, hotel in Old Town Riga. VERY comfortable bed and linens. Great breakfast included. The interior courtyard was a great place to sit and work on the internet. Staff, husband and wife, were both perfect hosts.
The breakfest was not the best, but the staf was very friendly and it was an old school hotel with a certain atmosphere. Location in old town Riga near the city center and railway station is excellent
Wonderful hotel. Modern, spacious and very clean room. Great breakfast selection. The hotel staff are very attentive and helpful. Easy access to the Riga old town via bus or by car.
The hotel was in a very good location in the old town of Riga. The room was very big and spacious. The staff was very helpful to organise the shuttle from and to the airport.
Location is good. It's a few steps to Old Town and some shopping centers but everything is quite close. Staff in the hotel was really nice and room was super comfortable.
I had a very pleasant stay! Great new hotel in Riga's old town. Friendly staff, very comfortable bed, great room.. I will be staying here on my next visit
