We walked by the hotel one day and looked it up on the internet. The hotel just opened but we booked a room for 3 nights. The owner, Enrico was the sweetest. Very good communication before we arrived at the hotel and also during our stay! The staff is very helpful! Everything is brand new. The rooms are very beautiful and the view on the rooftop is amazing. We recommend this hotel and are definitely coming back!

This place is the best in weligama. It is located 5 minutes walk from the main point and the centre of weligama and it is quiet and peaceful. You can get the getaway from the noise and still be very close to all that is good in weligama. The staff is super warm and welcoming and the rooms are spotless clean. We came to weligama mainly to surf and it was perfect for us. The hotel is located right on the beach but does not have a private beach but it is no problem as you can have so many beaches right next to it

The room was huge and clean, the bath was big and nice aswell. And, after having spent 4 weeks in sri lanka, it is safe to say that Mzion has the best, most welcoming, friendliest and most helping personnel we've encountered. Welcome drinks, a fruit platter, organized trips, help with search for other hotels, bringing pool towels, a personal weather forecast each morning. They did it all! Plus, we could leave our luggage while on a 1 week trip AND it was the only hotel where everything in the minibar (drinks, snacks, beer) was free.

There are many nice aspects about this place. It’s very quiet as it is not located near the main road. Clean spacious rooms with small kitchen. Good bed. Nice bathroom. Clean swimming pool and very relaxing garden. Yummie breakfast. Friendly staff. And all of this for a very reasonable price. Well done ! Would recommend it very much

10 out of 10. Highlights: the owners and the property itself. We stayed in a twin room that looks like your own apartment. Clean sheets, towels, a fan and mosquito nets are provided and the shower/toilet is outside clean and with warm water. There are also some chairs outside of the room where you can chill. The location is nice, less than 10min walk from the center/bus station and in a quite area. Furthermore, in the common open area there are some tables, a fridge and some kitchen gadgets to cook for yourself if needed. The area is so welcoming to have some breakfast, chill or as I did, to do some laptop work (wifi works perfectly!) Couldn’t ask for more, specially the owners, they are so kind, welcoming and taking care of every detail and helping with everything we needed. We were planing to stay one night and ended up staying five! Highly recommended!

We were there 4 nights during off season.

We were there 4 nights during off season. There is not much to do there in July. Especially with kids. Since the sea was to rough to swim in! Lots of wind and felt a bit like a ghost town to us. Every restaurant we went to we were the only ones! I think 2 nights would have been more than enough

Fortunately the place is not in the city of Wellgama which is bery busy, crowdy and noisy city. We resigned from spending more time in the city after 1h walk trying to find a nice area like caffees/restaurants or local small shops where you can buy some hand made staff etc.

The only minor downside is the occasional plastic waste, but with more awareness and local efforts, this paradise can be even better. Everything was beyond my expectations; the staff, the facilities, and the location. The staff Lashitha was the most hospitable, kindest person I met in Sri Lanka. He taught me many things about the country and was eager to help in every possible way. The breakfast was big and high-quality, the room was very spacious and clean. The location is perfect as well. It's close to the beach, a big supermarket and a few local eateries are nearby. I had stayed at another hotel before Mzion, and this hotel changed my experience in Weligama.

Shan is the best hotel owner in Sri Lanka. He treated me not like a client but like a brother. Very friendly and super helpful! I recommend Shan Star to everyone who wants to enjoy beautiful Weligama with a very nice room and incredibly friendly staff. Everything was super clean und the king size bed was the best I was sleeping in for a long time. Keep up the good work my friend and I hope to see you again soon!

The hotel is beautiful and the view even better. Every morning you can enjoy their delicious breakfast while looking at the sea. Food is amazing - some of the best we ate in Sri Lanka. Staff are so lovely and kind - Sandun and Rex were wonderful. You can walk down to the local beach. Tuk tuks outside to take you wherever you want to go. Highly recommend, we absolutely loved it.

The best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. Good value for the price. Verry beautiful and peaceful place close by river. around 4km to weligama beach where you can surf or relax. The cabana we stayed in was super clean and beautiful. The owners and the staff were super freindly and helped us with everything we needed. We are highly recommending secret river🙂🌟
