Beautifully furnished room with a nice bathroom that offers a great rain shower with hot water. The swimming pool is very inviting and the staff was exceptionally helpful, very accommodating, and friendly. We enjoyed the rich breakfast very much. The location is close to the beach. Sapiens is a haven! Away from the crowds, calm quiet and peaceful. On the river with a pool and wildlife everywhere. The staff are super helpful and got me a bike the first day which means I feel like a local. Breakfast is delicious and the pool is perfect for a lazy day or post surf dip to cool off. I can highly recommend staying here.

An absolute hidden gem in Weligama - highly highly highly recommend!! My stay here was perfect - the room was really spacious and comfortable (with a mini fridge, really nice shower, comfy bed with mosquito net), the breakfast was delish and really filling (would really recommend the smoothie bowl) and the staff were so so accommodating! This has been my absolute favourite stay in Sri Lanka - and such amazing value for money too. It’s really close to surf camps (like lucky’s) and out there way of the really busy centre but also only a short walk to town. Perfect location, amazing facilities, absolutely stellar team.

10 out of 10. Highlights: the owners and the property itself. We stayed in a twin room that looks like your own apartment. Clean sheets, towels, a fan and mosquito nets are provided and the shower/toilet is outside clean and with warm water. There are also some chairs outside of the room where you can chill. The location is nice, less than 10min walk from the center/bus station and in a quite area. Furthermore, in the common open area there are some tables, a fridge and some kitchen gadgets to cook for yourself if needed. The area is so welcoming to have some breakfast, chill or as I did, to do some laptop work (wifi works perfectly!) Couldn’t ask for more, specially the owners, they are so kind, welcoming and taking care of every detail and helping with everything we needed. We were planing to stay one night and ended up staying five! Highly recommended!

We were there 4 nights during off season. There is not much to do there in July. Especially with kids. Since the sea was to rough to swim in! Lots of wind and felt a bit like a ghost town to us. Every restaurant we went to we were the only ones! I think 2 nights would have been more than enough

Fortunately the place is not in the city of Wellgama which is bery busy, crowdy and noisy city. We resigned from spending more time in the city after 1h walk trying to find a nice area like caffees/restaurants or local small shops where you can buy some hand made staff etc.

Weligama is an absolute gem for travelers! Whether you're chasing waves or simply looking for a peaceful escape, this place has it all. The beach is fantastic for surfing, with great waves for both beginners and pros, while also offering calm spots perfect for relaxation. The sunrises and sunsets here are truly breathtaking, making every moment by the ocean magical. The town itself is warm and welcoming, with friendly locals, great food, and a laid-back vibe. The only minor downside is the occasional plastic waste, but with more awareness and local efforts, this paradise can be even better. Overall, Weligama is an unforgettable destination that perfectly balances adventure and tranquility—a must-visit for any traveler! 🌴🏄‍♂️🌅

If you want to experience a true Sri Lankan vibe, visit this place with a panoramic view of the ocean that will wake you up in the morning and lull you to sleep in the evening. Also try an endless variety of smoothie bowls, milkshakes, fresh see food or egg shakshuka in the restaurant on the roof. The place is just a short scooter ride from Weligama beach, Jungle beach and many others, but at the same time it is very peaceful, authentic and friendly. I believe that it will become your cozy home for a while, just like it was mine.

Peaceful place close to a beautiful river. The hotel staff is very kind and helpful of you have any questions. The rooms are large and the bed is really big and comfortable (even for couples, though I was alone). The bathroom was also very big and comfy, and there is a nice balcony with kitchen facilities. The breakfast was also very nice. You can choose between local and continental food (I really recommend Sri Lankan food!!) I can highly recommend this hotel!

Weligama Oriental Villa was a wonderful experience. The villa itself is beautifully designed with spacious, clean rooms, and just a short walk from the beach — ideal for relaxation. The staff were incredibly kind and understanding, especially when I had to leave early due to a family emergency. Their warmth and care made a challenging time much easier. Highly recommend this villa for anyone seeking comfort and genuine Sri Lankan hospitality.

Lucky’s was great! We were only there for one night, but we really loved the hotel. The team there were super helpful and really lovely people. The breakfast was delicious and the location was perfect. Next time we come to Sri Lanka we’ll be staying here for longer.

The restaurant meals and breakfast were great, people came from lots of other places to eat. Staff were great, rooms were good for the price. They provided us with water everyday something other hotels in Sri Lanka can learn from.
