Gayan was a fantastic host and he does so much for his guests, e.g. getting you to places close to his location and pick up again, a short evening lake tour, organize different things upon requests of guests, etc. all without additional costs. Highly recommended!

I made a booking here after I have read all the amazing reviews and I’m so glad I did. Nalin is such a nice person and just an amazing host! He contacted us after booking and we always stayed in touch. He was happy to help us with anything we needed and always provided with great tips and info. We were really touched with his hospitality. They cooked a great dinner just was for us that was included in the stay and it was soo good! Their house is beautiful, new, very clean. WiFi worked good. They even met us with welcome drinks and Nalin woke up at 4am to make a tea before our safari. Tissa itself is so beautiful town that is really worth visiting not only for Yala. We wish we could stay longer, we hope to come back again! Thank you very much Nalin 😊

The room is extremely clean. Everything he gave us was fresh from his garden. We wish we spent more time there! Randy, the owner, took us on a tour (he gave us HIS motorbike to ride around and he was riding his bicycle) to see his garden and his village. We stopped and went fishing. He explained so many things around the area. He also gave us binoculars to watch birds. We enjoyed this more than our Yala Safari!! The day we checked out, I forgot a precious gold and diamond necklace in the room. As soon as Randy saw it, he informed us, but we were already in our next stop (3 and a half hours away). He insisted on bringing it (we suggested shipping, but he refused as "it could be stolen"). He rode public transportation to bring it to Mirissa and went back 3 and a half hours again immediately.

We stayed in the place for one night a had chosen it because of Yala safari. We contacted the owner via booking chat in advance and he arranged us a private jeep safari to Yala national park. We were picked from the place at 4:30 and were back at noon. And that was really enough, as the the best time to see wild animals is very in the morning. The Yalla park opens at 6 a.m. and the jeeps have to stand in queue before entrance, so it is important to be at the entrance little bit early - we were there at 5:20 - so that to enter the park with the firs visitors. That is important, because jeeps go to specific places where leopards and elephants live and then again stand in queue so that to see animals. Therefore the time spend in the queues depends on the experience of the driver and our driver was really very good. We saw leopards, elephants, wild pigs, bulls, peacocks, crocodiles and more wild nature. We ordered a room with terrace without breakfast as the breakfast was included in safari price and we had a breakfast on the ocean beach in Yala. The room we booked was clean and comfortable. We had some time after we checked in in the afternoon, so we went to Kirinda to the beach, as we traveled by tuk tuk on ourselves. We had a beautiful sunset on the terrace of our room. And the owner offered to prepare us a dinner - we even could choose dishes from wide menu with listed prices - that was pleasantly surprising, as this is the place where the owners family lives and they offer only couple rooms to rent. Overall the Willage Mango Resort Yala met all our expectations so we definitely recommend the place to stay, especially if you plan to have Yala safari.

Everything. The place is amazing inside, very quiet and peaceful. The host is more than a beautiful person, so friendly, caring, and always responsive. I arrived yo another hotel by mistake since they have similar names and she called me to ask when I will be there. I explained to her that I got confused and I was in the wrong place and she had so much understanding about the situation and got worried that something may have happened to me. The hospitality of this place is just unique. The room was exactly as the pictures shown. Spacious, super clean, clean sheets and big bathroom, all new constructed and in perfect condition. There was a balcony with a wonderful view in the forest, coffee, a kettle, and cups to have your coffee im the morning, laundry service, food delivery at your room, and a fridge. There was hot water, very rare in Sri lanka, good water pressure, and place to hand your towels and things on the bathroom. WIFI was good, considering that you are in a Forrest and you can book the safari with them, better do it through your host they know they best guides!! Overall, it'd one of the best places I have stayed world-wide and with better quality and service from most of the 4 and 5* hotels I have been to, with a very reasonable price.
