Our stay in Yala was one of the best days of our lives. The hotel location in the middle of the nature makes this place magic. Facilities are luxurious and brand new. Huge room, supercomfy bed. It was calm, perfect to chill with your couple. We were in the swimming pool and spa and it felt like it was just the 2 of us. Compared to 5-stars hotels in europe, the quality-price of this place was insanely good.

They have very friendly and welcoming staff, they arranged us the safari for a reasonable price with well experienced driver. Rooms are clean and spacious, location is not in busy street which we liked, you can find here quite and relaxinf atmosphere.

This place is magic. Absolute paradise! Madu and his staff were very welcoming from the moment we arrived. Our safari was well organised and Madu made sure we were well looked after. The food was superb and eating outside overlooking the lake during the evening was bliss. The hotel was without a doubt the best accomodation we have stayed at until now in Sri Lanka. The design is spot on. The layout of our “penthouse” was very well thought out and an excellent place to wind down after dinner. We have payed much more for other accomodations throughout our stay here that don’t even come close. The whole experience is almost a bonus on top of our Sri Lankan adventure. As for the safari, our very competent driver Dulita who we named Dr Dolittle took us on an unforgettable safari. We saw leopard, elephant, mongoose, monkeys, monitor lizards, crocs and countless beautiful birds. His spotting skills were second to none. A trip to remember for a lifetime. Highly recommended.

We had such a beautiful stay at My Resort Yala. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and cared for - the staff really want to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. This is evident in the facilities - air con, good fans, filtered water in the room, mosquito nets (even though there weren’t many mosquitos), a fridge, a hair dryer, adapters to suit every country’s appliances. My favourite - bicycles. This allowed us to ride around town - a thoroughly enjoyable way to see the place. We did an afternoon safari and managed to see a sloth bear! Along with so many other animals - many elephants, crocodiles, deer, bird species, mongoose, jackals, goannas (probably forgetting a lot here). The leopard eluded us. My husband and I have been on safari in Africa so we thought maybe we’d be underwhelmed - but it was awesome. The pool was great for my kids. The temperature was just right. Breakfast was tasty and very generous, and the place has such a peaceful outlook over the rice fields. All of this for such good value. Thank you to all the staff for making this such a lovely stay.

My stay in this guesthouse was an example of true and pure Sri Lankan hospitality. The owner and his family are so nice, they received me with a fresh drink and in the afternoon took a couple of us for a free tour around the lake. Also, he organized safari to Yala National Park for me at a convenient price. Honestly my experience in Tissa couldnt have been better!

Beautiful place and beautiful people. We had a very warm welcome, with a rich dinner of local cousine. The room and bathroom were really clean and the bed very comfortable. We were also impressed by how clean and well-maintained the exterior was. They also had flexible check out, and in addition, delicious refreshment drinks were waiting for us after the safari. I can’t recommend more this hotel. The family is extremely helpful and kind. They were all the time asking me about my necessities and bringing me all the help I needed. I arranged the safari with them and it was amazing (I saw even a leopard). At this little house you feel like at home. Thanks so much for everything.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The host is super friendly and helpful. When we arrived the host offered bikes to explore the area. We cycled around the lake, 100% recommended if you visit this place. The host also booked our trip to Yala National Park, for which she gave several options. The room was very clean and has everything you need. The location is very quiet, except for the river! However you do not hear the river from the room, and outside you can enjoy its soothing nature sound! Thank you Mithila!

Great place to stay with lovely hosts. They were very welcoming and there was a great view into the fields from the balcony. Ideal for our stay and visit to Yala. The breakfast was also fantastic and some of the fruit was grown by the hosts. A lovely touch and it was nice to chat to them during breakfast. Kind people.
