We had the most beautiful experience at Leel's cottage. Leel and his family are wonderful, kind and genuine people who make your stay unforgettable. The room is beautifully decorated, you'll be amazed by Leel's craftsmanship. We enjoyed just sitting on the porch with the swinging chair and enjoying nature. If tranquility is what you are looking for, then this place is right for you. Leel is also a very knowledgeable, experienced and passionate safari guide. We had the best experience exploring the national park away from the beaten tracks. He pointed out so many animals which might have gone undiscovered for the untrained eye. Another highlight is the homemade food! Do not miss out on dinner! Leel's wife is a beautician, so you can get professional treatment there as well. I was very happy with my manicure. We left with a heavy heart as it felt we made wonderful friends.

Everything! Possibly the best customer service I’ve ever experienced- and I’ve travelled a lot. Everything was clean. Food was amazing - be sure to eat all meals here if you can. An outdoor shower was a real highlight too. The family could not do enough for us. They even came along on the safari tour with us in case the guide didn’t have good English. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

We loved our stay here, Milan was so friendly and nice to chat with. We had the whole place to ourselves (by luck), it was so peaceful there. The room was very well equipped with a working tv with English channels, great aircon and shower. The balcony on the river was lovely, we saw all kinds of birds and even a turtle in the river (or tortoise?) We did the full day 12 hour safari for 49,000 (2 people) organised by Milan. We had a great day, it was long and hot but worth it. Milan got us a good taxi to Tangalle the next day too. 10/10 recommend, it really felt like a proper safari lodge stay!!

Remote and surrounded by nature. Was wonderful to peacefully wake up to the sound of birds. The dinners were great tasting and well presented. I was welcomed warmly and treated very kindly during my 2 night stay. The hotel arranged transport for me to and then from the hotel with a great local driver, Posheeter. The safari tour they arranged was with a great guide Nishander, he seemed very experienced and I saw lots of elephants, monkeys, mongeese, deer etc. The pool was clean and a comfortable temperature.

This place is one of my favorites in Sri Lanka! It was such a beautiful surprise! Calm area, very nice outdoor setting, the room was very spacious (as was the bathroom!) So let's talk details: - Food: Amazing! Home cooked food, with candlelight and the sounds of nature! - Safari: He was a very good company during my trip! He gave me some tips, was very flexible with my requests. - Helpfulness: Arranged a taxi to my next destination, Overall, it was totally worth it, you will really enjoy it! !

Where to start... We had a wonderful stay! Our host Ravidu is a very kind man, he welcomed me and my girlfriend into his family. We will forever be grateful for the special memories created there. His wife cooked us delicious traditional Sri Lankan food at night. Thank you very much ☺️ The bed is extremely comfortable and the room is spacious and very clean. It was nice to have a place to hang out on the terrace. There are many beautiful plants around the property that give it a jungle feel. We saw many tropical birds around. I 100% recommend booking a safari through Ravidu, he partners with a guide with many years of experience. The safari guide was knowledgeable about the animals and different species we saw on the safari. He was very respectful of the wildlife and drove slowly through the park unlike other jeeps..!!

The location of the cottage is fantastic, within walking...

The location of the cottage is fantastic, within walking distance to Udawalawe Handhi. The room is beautifully designed with huge glass windows to appreciate nature. Very clean. The host welcomed us warmly, and I must mention: this is where we had the best breakfast in Sri Lanka. It was provided to us for free.. Thank you!

We really enjoyed Ravidu Safari House!

We really enjoyed Ravidu Safari House! It is located about 5 minutes from the entrance of Udawalawe Park and is in a beautiful location among the trees. The manager Ravidu and his wife were very friendly and organized a wonderful safari for us to the park. We saw over 50 elephants and other animals, so we had a great time. Our room at the hotel was large, comfortable and very clean. We also had a lovely dinner at the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to do a safari in Udawalawe.

The accommodation in this place has magical peace and quiet.

The accommodation in this place has magical peace and quiet. The cabin is clean, air conditioned. Our host in the main building prepared us excellent Sri Lankan food. He is a wonderful, smiling and funny man with a wonderful family. We decided to go on a safari, which he helped us organize. As promised, our guide spoke good English and was able to identify animals that we would not have seen on our own. We highly recommend this place!

The highlight of my visit was the jeep safari, which provided an up-close look at the amazing wildlife in Udawalawe National Park. Nice place to stay a night to go on a safari in the national park. The room looked nice, had a small sitting area, a desk, and a water kettle. The AC worked. The bathroom was clean, hot water, great shower pressure. The Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious, with hoppers, fried egg, coconut sambal, and fresh fruit. The elephant transit home is a 10 minute walk away. The hotel can arrange the safari for you.

Perfect base for safaris to Udawalawe National Park. The hotel organizes excellent safari tours. After the safari, the entire evening can be spent in the river and the birdsong can be heard non-stop till around 6.30 pm. Dinner was excellent. Brilliant value for money.
