We spent in hotel only 1 night but if we would stay in Sigiriya longer we would definetly stay here. The second we came, personal were so nice and helpful. Location of hotel is amazing, walk distance to Lion rock and 20 min with tuk tuk to Dambulla caves. The room was spacious, clean, with amazing view. Breakfast in morning was amazing, homemade mix of western and traditional sri lankan dishes with fresh cut fruit. 10/10

This was a wonderful stay with an even more wonderful family. They make some amazing food! The treehouse is on their garden (but quite private at the back sheltered by trees) and looks amazing. There are peacocks and monkeys running around the garden (or close to it) which felt like a Safari on its own (they stay a good distance away so it feels safe too). They have a cute puppy on premises who likes to play. The location is super close to the centre via Tuk tuk & the treehouse is very comfortable to stay in.

Sigiriya is a must visit ancient ruins monument in Sri Lanka. It is a nice experience to observe the sunrise from the top of the rock. The climb takes about 30-40 minutes unless one stops by to explore the water fountains, structures and other remnants of the location. Entrance to the rock is through the lion structure and on the top of the rock Sigiri frescos and the mirror wall can be observed. These are not allowed to be photographed. Applying sun screen can be a good idea and it would be better to take precautions for being sweaty. Maintaining silence while climbing can be important as there are Giant Honey Bees in the surrounding. Bathroom facilities on top of the rock however are very scarce.

I didn’t come to Sigiriya to explore the town itself, but...

I didn’t come to Sigiriya to explore the town itself, but purely for the iconic Sigiriya Rock—and it was absolutely worth it. The experience was incredible, with stunning views from the top. My friends and I climbed up for sunrise, which I highly recommend as the best time to go. Just be prepared: there are a lot of stairs—some carved directly into the rock, others metal and uneven. We visited in November just after the monsoon, so it was warm and the climb had us sweating buckets. If you plan on taking those perfect social-media photos, bring a spare T-shirt… or do what I did and let AI handle the magic! Although the ascent was tough and left us literally out of breath, the moment we reached the top made it all worth it. The views were truly breathtaking—quite fitting, since the climb already took my breath away.

Lions rock is great, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lions rock is great, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed for two nights in the end as we got to sigiriya late. This meant we ate dinner one night at the little hut which wass great, climbed the rock, then moved on to the habarana which was also interesting to wander and eat.

The weather is very calm.

The weather is very calm. Recommended time to start climb is 5.45 AM. So worthy to watch the surroundings from top of the Sigiriya. You can learn a lot about Sigiriya. You can get a guide if you want from the entrance.

I’ll never forget the day we spent climbing Sigiriya.

I’ll never forget the day we spent climbing Sigiriya. And no wonder such a wonderful World Heritage Site kept popping up everywhere: Test it against the massive old fortress, the gorgeous frescoes, and images taken of landscapes from the summit, and there you’ll pick one of Sri Lanka’s greatest treasures. Not an easy or casual climb but certainly one that throws panoramic views so very far worth it and lucid into history at every step. Water gardens at the bottom quite worth a visit. One has to get there at dawn to avoid numerous tourists and scorching sun. Thus, in general, Sigiriya is a combination of artistic creation, engineering work of antiquity, and a miracle of nature, and a must-see site in Sri Lanka.

There is so much more to do in this area than I realised.

There is so much more to do in this area than I realised. I will definitely come back. The area is beautiful and we were sad to leave. We dud Pidurangala Rock which was fun, more of an adventurous climb than Lions Rock. It has incredible views of Lions Rock. We also did a safari in Minneriya National Park. The park was beautiful and we saw so many elephants plus lots of varieties of birds, golden jackals, monkees, mongoose, the grizzled giant squirrel, buffalo and jungle foul. We also went to Dambula Temple Caves which is very spiritual and Luckgrove Spice Gardens which was an incredible experience. Highly recommend this area.

It is not a five-star hotel, the facility offers basic accommodation, but it also has many advantages. Great hospitality! We arrived after a long flight + a car drive from the airport to the hotel and were extremely hungry. When we asked for lunch recommendations, the staff prepared us a free meal (salad and french fries)!! The food was very delicious The female staff also showed us the best place to see the Sigiriya Rock. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We had a wonderful family stay. The hotel was modern, spacious, welcoming and well located. The kids loved the pool, and the owner helped organise a number of really fun activities including elephant safari, village tour and transport to the Sigiriya hike. It was a great start to our Sri Lankan holiday

It’s a nice friendly environment with a remarkable village experience. Food and the staff were the best in town. Ayurvedic spa was a great relaxation after climbing the Sigiriya rock. Best hotel and the service in Sigiriya.
