It was simply precious. Private , secluded area. The owners picked us up with a jeep, organized a jungle tour for us and gave us a ride as well. The family is incredibly hard working and polite, they try their best to accommodate our wishes. The food is amazing. No AC but it wasn't necessary as it was pretty cool at night.

Host family is very friendly, helpfull and always available for us. Our best of four locations so far this tour in Sri Lanka. Highly recommend.

I'm a wildlife Photographer and I've been seeing Hemal as guide for several years now. He recently renovated the place as a guest house and it is fantastic. The place: The room was clean, AC and facilities are brand new and the view is exceptional! It is located a beautiful 10 minute walk from the park entrance, surrounded by green. And is directly next to the path that you would take for a night tour, which is a must in Sinharaja (And nobody is allowed to enter the Park at night). Hemal's wife is cooking and I doubt any of the luxury hotels near by will match the love and effort she put in every single meal. As it is common for Sri Lankan hospitality, they will always ask you if anything is missing or you have any special wishes and will drive to the nearest shop to buy it, without asking. The guide (Which is much more important in Sinharaja!): Hemal is known within the entire community as one who spots the most animals and knows so much about them. While all guides need to absolve basic training to become a guide, you can tell that he is truly passionate about the nature and he will tell you the English, Latin and partly the German names for most of the animals that we saw. You can also tell that he deeply respects the animals and the eco system and puts safety of you and the animals above anything. He grew up right in that village and he's is in the forest every day even on his days off so he always knows all the best spots!

During our three unforgettable weeks in Sri Lanka, this was undoubtedly THE best place we stayed. Everything about it was flawless, but what made it truly stand out was the magical setting. Nestled amidst lush greenery, the villa offers an unparalleled connection to nature – you genuinely feel like you’re immersed in the rainforest, which isn’t surprising given that the stunning Sinharaja Forest Reserve is just moments away. The views are absolutely breathtaking. Whether you’re lounging by the serene pool or relaxing on your private balcony, the vistas are like nothing I’ve experienced before – vibrant, tranquil, and endlessly captivating. The villa itself is equally impressive, with a warm wooden chalet vibe. It was spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully equipped with all the amenities you’d need, including a fridge, plenty of sockets, and cosy furnishings. It felt like a luxurious home away from home. The attention to detail here was exceptional. Having stayed in several five-star hotels, I can confidently say this villa meets, if not exceeds, that standard. The staff deserve special mention – they were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. They arranged everything for us, from TukTuks to local tours, and even went above and beyond to make my 30th birthday celebration extra special, complete with personalised touches. The pool was another highlight – beautifully maintained, it was the ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploring. And the food? Simply sublime. Dining in their charming greenhouse-style restaurant, surrounded by the garden’s lush greenery, was an experience in itself. Each meal was a delight, made even better by the panoramic views. In short, everything about this place was exceptional. If you’re looking for a blend of luxury, nature, and outstanding hospitality, this is it. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Amazing location in green area. We spotted several animals while just sitting on the balcony (including monkeys, peacocks and kingfisher). The owners are very friendly and helpful, they made our stay very comfortable.

The Location is very beautiful, situated in the jungle in a small village. The family was incredibly kind and made our stay feel like home. We had delicious homemade, traditional dinner and breakfast. The house is close to the entrance to Sinharaja Forest and they recommended us a great Guide who spotted lots of animals and showed us many ayurverdic healing plants. I can‘t recommend this place enough :)

I had a great stay at the Glitz Marriott. Ananda and his family are great hosts, really nice, attentive and excellent cooks. I originally planned to stay one night but extended my stay. The room was large, clean and quiet. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea can be taken on the covered terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding rice fields. Ananda is also a very good guide, we did an expedition in the Sinharaja forest and saw a lot of animals. Ananda also organised a visit to a tea factory and took me to see the beautiful surrounding countryside.

The place is beautiful and by far the cleanest I have seen in the country. Even better than the accommodation are the lovely people running it!

This was a magical experience being in a peaceful rainforest, next to a river, surrounded by wild nature and the perfect service from Ravinre who always met us with a big smile and kind heart. We will definitely go back next year.

The location of Dolagawa is magical. There is a river and a small waterfall where you can swim right next to the resort. We went to the Sinharaja Forest and the host arranged a 3-4 hour tour for us which was really nice. The food was good and the staff was welcoming, helpful and super friendly!
