Beautiful home in wonderful rural setting with amenities close by to stay in while visiting family and friends. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming on arrival and had provided the additional items like, iron and ironing board as requested. Provided extra towels and sheets very quickly when we asked and offered to refresh daily. When I mentioned I was not confidant with using a gas hob attached to a gas bottle, they provided an electric hotplate immediately which was much appreciated. Responded quickly when the WiFi router lost Internet connection on our last morning.A/C and fans kept house cool as well as shade from the 2 Neem trees. Very comfortable beds, we all slept well. We loved seeing various birds squirrels, lizards and a Chameleon in the Garden which has lots of beautiful plants palms and fruit trees. Will definately be booking again when we next return to Sri Lanka.

Amazing, generous, friendly family, who couldn't do enough for you. New Hugh clean house, with use of washing of machine and fridge freezer.. Lots of bedrooms, kitchen and loungue plus outdoor space. Nice quiet area, but only a short tuktuk ride to Point Pedro where you will find plenty eating establishments, shops, and ATMs. The family implied you can get takeaway delivered to the property. There is an inside and outside dining area. The house is situated in the family compound, so it felt very safe and safe parking. We will definitely stay again. Emma and Harry

Manager very friendly, efficient and welcoming. We are 3 people and he gave us nice rooms which were clean , comfortable and quiet. Good location too

Spacious, clean and affordable. I stayed for one night and slept really well in an AC room with a fan. Bed was very comfy, rooms toilet and hall was clean. The staff were very welcoming and knew how to communicate in different languages. The food was exceptional, they made it fresh in front of me and catered to my dietary needs. I absolutely applaud their hosting skills.

Best value for money. There are walls, gate, CCTV, an attached bathroom, a hot water shower, and A/C. Can park 2 cars. We spent 2 nights here. It's really good there. Security, facilities, and cleanliness are good.

We loved everything about our stay. The room was so nice and clean. The breakfast was delicious and we could choose exactly what we wanted to eat the day before. The staff was kind and helpful. It's an old house with a gentle renovation so the spirit of the history was preserved in a beautiful way. All in all we had a wonderful time at Thambu Illam.
