Beautiful modern property in a great location close to 2 fantastic beaches and a few minutes walk to Secret Beach. We met James (and Lou) the owner and their friends who happened to be staying at the same time. We were welcomed to a ‘family feel’ environment and told to help ourselves to drinks and to join in on the daily on site yoga. The pool area was really relaxing and beautiful with the pool being the perfect temperature. We felt more like we were leaving a few days with friends than staying at accommodation. We were given great recommendations of places close by to dine (and there were plenty). The chef (sadly I have forgotten his name) was so lovely and helpful and engaging. We really enjoyed our chats with him and he was obviously also a talented chef. Breakfast was always lovely and the timing of it very flexible. We really enjoyed our 3 days here.

The owners were incredibly welcoming and truly made us feel at home. The breakfasts were amazing—fresh bread from their bakery every morning, along with a fruits and omelette. When I mentioned that I love ginger, Modisha even bought me some ginger cookies to try, which was such a special touch. The guest house was very clean, and the atmosphere was peaceful, which we really appreciated. They also offer laundry services and bike rental. As for the minor downsides, there is no hot water, and we did notice a few ants in the bathroom, but it didn’t bother us at all. It’s a bit further from the center, but the quiet surroundings make up for it. Overall, we were really happy with our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Mirissa.

It was a fantastic end of our holiday. The hotel is very good, clean and with a beautifull view on the sea. The staff is really nice and helpful! Kitchen was of a high level as well. All in all, we would highly recommend this hotel to others.

Mirissa in my opinion has a completely different vibe to the other beach areas I stayed at being Hiriketiyah and Unawatuna. While it does have attractions like Coconut Hill, it lacks the intimacy, character and ambience of the above mentioned beach areas and for that reason I would advise a shorter stay to experience Mirissa. One night was adequate for me.

The hotel management are not good to deal with and I would not recommend this place at all. It looks pretty on the outside but full of problems and poor design, unsafe and unhygienic aspects that are a major concern. Hiring hot water shower that has no safety option even when it is not on high hot water setting, it can burn. The deluxe room we were offered has no windows at all and a dingy hole with no natural light or ventilation but advertised as having an outdoor dining room. It is falsely advertised to mislead people an we refused to stay in the room and had a mattress in the sea view room for which they charged us half the room rate when we didn’t even have a ton, just a mattress an they failed to even provide a towel. Their service is horrendous - stay away from this place and don’t be misled by the pretty photos like we’re. Even beach there not safe to swim and too far from Mirissa main beach so there is really nothing going for this place except the superficial looks.

The beach is attractive with palm trees and beach bars, however it is very narrow and at high tide there is very little sand available for relaxing. The waves are quite ferocious at times even though the weather was calm and only the strongest and most confident swimmers were able to swim past the breakers and surf, also beware of the jet ski which operates from the area where you access the beach from the hotel, this was an additional menace.

My favorite spot was definitely the beachfront area right in front of Paradise Beach Club – calm waves, golden sand, and perfect sunsets. I also loved Coconut Hill, just a short walk away, with its panoramic view of the ocean and palm trees. Where I Ate- Most of my meals were at the Paradise Beach Club restaurant, which offered delicious Sri Lankan curries, fresh seafood, and good international choices. For variety, Mirissa has some great little cafés and beach shacks nearby – I especially liked the fresh juices and seafood BBQs along the beach. Mum's Kitchen, Big Belly & All you can eat were equally good. Mirissa is very easy to get around. Most places are within walking distance if you’re staying near the beach. Mirissa is a popular tourist destination, and one where tourism income trumps everything else - usually at the expense of the environment. So, if you’re looking for an idyllic escape to a pristine, tropical paradise, you’ll need to lower your expectations quite a bit. Unfortunately, the businesses lining the beachfront have been allowed to attempt to artificially hold back the sea, by building awful sea walls, sandbagging, etc. This has resulted in far less beach than there would naturally be. The other inescapable truth is that it’s quite polluted - mainly with discarded plastics (bottles, drinking straws, bags, etc.) and other rubbish. It really is heartbreaking to see, and it’s everywhere. Picking up a few bags of it everyday on my walks didn’t even make a dent! (This problem isn’t limited to Mirissa, by the way. It’s everywhere in Sri Lanka. Substantial regulatory change and investment in education are needed - now!) As a visitor, do your part and at least set a good example by not discarding your rubbish. On the plus side, the people are very friendly and welcoming, and there are quite a few great places to eat and enjoy a cold drink. I found the better restaurants on the main road rather than the beach. There are also plenty of lovely, small, family-run restaurants throughout the back streets that are worth seeking out.

I spent one night at a Coastal Villa in Mirissa, and it was one of my best experiences in Sri Lanka. The villa is situated in a calm and quiet area, yet it is within walking distance to both the town and the beach. The rooms are spacious, and the beds were clean and comfortable. The air conditioner functioned well during the extremely hot weather, and the staff were very helpful. Initially, we did not book the room with a meal included, but the staff were accommodating and provided a variety of delicious Sri Lankan dishes on short notice. I decided to extend my stay, and the villa staff easily fulfilled my request. I recommend Coastal Villa to anyone seeking a place to stay in Mirissa.

We had an amazing stay at paradise beach club! Really spacious room with nice balcony overlooking the sea. Great place to base ourselves on the coast with the hotel having everything we needed but also being close to other shops / restaurants etc in Mirissa. We were really impressed with the breakfast and buffet dinner, though we didn’t eat there every evening it was a good option with lots of choice and great views. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing location with the room in front of the swimming pool and of the sea, as well breakfast in front of the beach. Lovely relaxing pool. My room - budget - was simple, but ok. The hotel is centrally located, a very few minutes from Mirissa beach and from all bars, shops and restaurants. Breakfast is tasty and is possible to choose among a variety of options. Staff is friendly and has been all time helpful.

I enjoyed everything about my stay at the hotel. The staff was super friendly. Also gave us good advices. Upgraded my room for free. Even exchanged money for us at the market. The rooms are very big. Its possible to wash the clothes at the property. We were very happy to stay there. Would definitely recommend it. And hope to come back soon. Just 3 min from the beautiful Mirissa Beach.

Mirissa Moments Hotel has a calming and ambient atmosphere and is just a few minutes away from Mirissa Beach. We had a lovely stay, and the staff were friendly and supportive. Special thanks to the hotel manager and Sanduni, who went out of their way to assist us throughout our stay.

It was a Short Walk from Mirissa Beach and it was quiet. It had a good air con and mosquito netting. The Pool was nice and safe, had shower facilities. Overall a low Budget Hotel that makes it possible to Save Money on your Holiday.
