Best hotel in Sri Lanka. Super clean and really, really beautiful. But the best is, without any doubt, the people who work there. They adapt everything to our choices. Special comment to the chef who cooked one of the best foods we tried in our trip. Rooms are big, the pool is amazing, wifi works perfectly and the whole atmosphere is super nice. I would come back to Mirissa just to stay in this hotel Hardly recommend it

Only positive words for this hotel. This hotel is only 7 months old and it exceeded all of our expectations. Room was spacious and we loved the design. They had an amazing pool with a lovely garden view. Staff was extremely helpful, they even made us custom breakfast and let us have a late checkout for free. The hotel manager Sandunmalh was very professional.

Mirissa in my opinion has a completely different vibe to the...

Mirissa in my opinion has a completely different vibe to the other beach areas I stayed at being Hiriketiyah and Unawatuna. While it does have attractions like Coconut Hill, it lacks the intimacy, character and ambience of the above mentioned beach areas and for that reason I would advise a shorter stay to experience Mirissa. One night was adequate for me.

The hotel management are not good to deal with and I would not recommend this place at all. It looks pretty on the outside but full of problems and poor design, unsafe and unhygienic aspects that are a major concern. Hiring hot water shower that has no safety option even when it is not on high hot water setting, it can burn. The deluxe room we were offered has no windows at all and a dingy hole with no natural light or ventilation but advertised as having an outdoor dining room. It is falsely advertised to mislead people an we refused to stay in the room and had a mattress in the sea view room for which they charged us half the room rate when we didn’t even have a ton, just a mattress an they failed to even provide a towel. Their service is horrendous - stay away from this place and don’t be misled by the pretty photos like we’re. Even beach there not safe to swim and too far from Mirissa main beach so there is really nothing going for this place except the superficial looks.

The beach is attractive with palm trees and beach bars, however it is very narrow and at high tide there is very little sand available for relaxing. The waves are quite ferocious at times even though the weather was calm and only the strongest and most confident swimmers were able to swim past the breakers and surf, also beware of the jet ski which operates from the area where you access the beach from the hotel, this was an additional menace.

My favorite spot was definitely the beachfront area right in front of Paradise Beach Club – calm waves, golden sand, and perfect sunsets. I also loved Coconut Hill, just a short walk away, with its panoramic view of the ocean and palm trees. Where I Ate- Most of my meals were at the Paradise Beach Club restaurant, which offered delicious Sri Lankan curries, fresh seafood, and good international choices. For variety, Mirissa has some great little cafés and beach shacks nearby – I especially liked the fresh juices and seafood BBQs along the beach. Mum's Kitchen, Big Belly & All you can eat were equally good. Mirissa is very easy to get around. Most places are within walking distance if you’re staying near the beach. For slightly farther spots like Weligama or Galle, tuk-tuks are everywhere and quite affordable. we booked our car for the entire trip. things to do- Whale watching tours Sunset at Coconut Hill Beach hopping Surfing

Mirissa is a popular tourist destination, and one where tourism income trumps everything else - usually at the expense of the environment. So, if you’re looking for an idyllic escape to a pristine, tropical paradise, you’ll need to lower your expectations quite a bit. Unfortunately, the businesses lining the beachfront have been allowed to attempt to artificially hold back the sea, by building awful sea walls, sandbagging, etc. This has resulted in far less beach than there would naturally be. The other inescapable truth is that it’s quite polluted - mainly with discarded plastics (bottles, drinking straws, bags, etc.) and other rubbish. It really is heartbreaking to see, and it’s everywhere. Picking up a few bags of it everyday on my walks didn’t even make a dent! (This problem isn’t limited to Mirissa, by the way. It’s everywhere in Sri Lanka. Substantial regulatory change and investment in education are needed - now!) As a visitor, do your part and at least set a good example by not discarding your rubbish. On the plus side, the people are very friendly and welcoming, and there are quite a few great places to eat and enjoy a cold drink. I found the better restaurants on the main road rather than the beach. There are also plenty of lovely, small, family-run restaurants throughout the back streets that are worth seeking out.

I spent one night at a Coastal Villa in Mirissa, and it was one of my best experiences in Sri Lanka. The villa is situated in a calm and quiet area, yet it is within walking distance to both the town and the beach. The rooms are spacious, and the beds were clean and comfortable. The air conditioner functioned well during the extremely hot weather, and the staff were very helpful. Initially, we did not book the room with a meal included, but the staff were accommodating and provided a variety of delicious Sri Lankan dishes on short notice. I decided to extend my stay, and the villa staff easily fulfilled my request. I recommend Coastal Villa to anyone seeking a place to stay in Mirissa.

The hotel is ideally located just behind the Coconut Tree hill and a 10-min walk from Mirissa beach. Yet, it's very quiet and lends itself for a relaxing time. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious, with a private balcony, while the hotel offers amazing common spaces including a pool and garden, restaurant, pool tables, reading corners, bar etc. Really good breakfast with variety and also a very good restaurant with local and Western options. Laundry service available at extra cost. All staff members are very friendly and polite.

Nice air-conditioned private room with private bathroom. It has big King size bed. It's 5 minutes from Mirissa Beach. Breakfast was included. I had omelette with toast and salad and coffee. Hotel has also own restaurant downstairs. Owner Max is friendly and helpful guy. He let me stay until 6:00 PM without extra charge so I could take shower and keep my stuff in room because after I was going to Colombo airport. I would definitely stay again. It's great value for money. I can only recommend this place.

Wonderful stay in Mirissa. The hotel allowed us to check in 90 minute early and our room was beautiful. We have the ground floor right by the pool. The pool was so nice to use and sooo warm from the sun being on it all day. Having the use of Netflix on a big tv was wonderful and helped with the rainy days. We walked to Mirissa Beach which took around 40 mins, was a great walk and easy to do. Breakfast daily was delicious.

We’d read many positive reviews about Spice Hotel, and it certainly lived up to expectations! Tucked away in a peaceful and serene setting, the hotel feels like a hidden gem. The rooms were lovely, breakfast was delicious (you’ll be well-fed!), and the staff were incredibly helpful. A standout for Spice Hotel is its location—it's very easy to walk to nearby spots including Mirissa Beach. Highly recommend!
