Myself, my fiancé and 2 friends spent 3 nights in the Kiss Blossom hotel. It was an amazing end to our trip in Sri Lanka. What stands out hugely is that the service was incredible. The property is modern, new and clean. The area is peaceful and slightly outside of the busier town, but a 30 min walk or a short tuk tuk ride away. Which was perfect for us. The staff helped us with renting bikes and made it all very easy and convenient. The staff did everything possible to make our stay wonderful. They were kind and welcoming and helped us with anything we needed or asked. Upon arrival they made us feel so welcome with their kind actions and this continued for our whole stay! The service received was so of the best I have ever experienced! Thank you so much for giving us a wonderful and memorable stay.

We really liked the place, it was comfortable, good value for the money. We had hot water in the bathroom (which is not evident in Sri Lanka) and the in-house laundry was much cheaper then anywhere else. We would return any time.

Family of 7, 3 rooms. We came for one night, as a stop between Arugam Bay and flying back home, being 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. On the day of the arrival to the hotel, a war started at our home country, and we extended our flight by another week. Now get that, the owner heard about the war, understood we are forced to stay, and insisted that we will stay in his hotel, as much as we need, including food for F R E E! Him and the rest of the crew are so so friendly and helpful! Due to the heavy rains in Mirissa, one of the rooms had bad smell, when we noted that they gave us immediately another room. Our kids wanted some Pizza Hut, they helped us order it to the hotel, and eat it in their restaurant. Don't let the pizza confuse you, they have great chef and great shakes and cocktails, after few days here, we know he can do anything we ask, on the perfect side of things. As for the location, it is on the turtle bay, as the name suggests, which means that in any given time you can snorkel and see turtles, and if you don't want to snorkel, you look at the sea, and every few minutes you would see one, popping for air. It is also next to the coconut hill, a majestic place to see sunsets. We were off season, I can just try to imagine how beautiful it is when the sea is calmer with better visibility. Above all, their hospitality warmth our hearts, especially in such tough times for us.

The couple that owns the accommodation is really sweet and helpfull. When my wife had a medical emergency they drove us to the hospital. The rooms are cleaned every day. Location was good. Close to some restaurants and less then 10 minutes to the beach.

Mirissa in my opinion has a completely different vibe to the other beach areas I stayed at being Hiriketiyah and Unawatuna. While it does have attractions like Coconut Hill, it lacks the intimacy, character and ambience of the above mentioned beach areas and for that reason I would advise a shorter stay to experience Mirissa. One night was adequate for me.

The hotel management are not good to deal with and I would not recommend this place at all. It looks pretty on the outside but full of problems and poor design, unsafe and unhygienic aspects that are a major concern. Hiring hot water shower that has no safety option even when it is not on high hot water setting, it can burn. The deluxe room we were offered has no windows at all and a dingy hole with no natural light or ventilation but advertised as having an outdoor dining room. It is falsely advertised to mislead people an we refused to stay in the room and had a mattress in the sea view room for which they charged us half the room rate when we didn’t even have a ton, just a mattress an they failed to even provide a towel. Their service is horrendous - stay away from this place and don’t be misled by the pretty photos like we’re. Even beach there not safe to swim and too far from Mirissa main beach so there is really nothing going for this place except the superficial looks.

The beach is attractive with palm trees and beach bars, however it is very narrow and at high tide there is very little sand available for relaxing. The waves are quite ferocious at times even though the weather was calm and only the strongest and most confident swimmers were able to swim past the breakers and surf, also beware of the jet ski which operates from the area where you access the beach from the hotel, this was an additional menace.

My favorite spot was definitely the beachfront area right in front of Paradise Beach Club – calm waves, golden sand, and perfect sunsets. I also loved Coconut Hill, just a short walk away, with its panoramic view of the ocean and palm trees. Where I Ate- Most of my meals were at the Paradise Beach Club restaurant, which offered delicious Sri Lankan curries, fresh seafood, and good international choices. For variety, Mirissa has some great little cafés and beach shacks nearby – I especially liked the fresh juices and seafood BBQs along the beach. Mum's Kitchen, Big Belly & All you can eat were equally good. Mirissa is very easy to get around. Most places are within walking distance if you’re staying near the beach. For slightly farther spots like Weligama or Galle, tuk-tuks are everywhere and quite affordable. we booked our car for the entire trip. things to do- Whale watching tours Sunset at Coconut Hill Beach hopping Surfing

Mirissa is a popular tourist destination, and one where...

Mirissa is a popular tourist destination, and one where tourism income trumps everything else - usually at the expense of the environment. So, if you’re looking for an idyllic escape to a pristine, tropical paradise, you’ll need to lower your expectations quite a bit. Unfortunately, the businesses lining the beachfront have been allowed to attempt to artificially hold back the sea, by building awful sea walls, sandbagging, etc. This has resulted in far less beach than there would naturally be. The other inescapable truth is that it’s quite polluted - mainly with discarded plastics (bottles, drinking straws, bags, etc.) and other rubbish. It really is heartbreaking to see, and it’s everywhere. Picking up a few bags of it everyday on my walks didn’t even make a dent! (This problem isn’t limited to Mirissa, by the way. It’s everywhere in Sri Lanka. Substantial regulatory change and investment in education are needed - now!) As a visitor, do your part and at least set a good example by not discarding your rubbish. On the plus side, the people are very friendly and welcoming, and there are quite a few great places to eat and enjoy a cold drink. I found the better restaurants on the main road rather than the beach. There are also plenty of lovely, small, family-run restaurants throughout the back streets that are worth seeking out.

I spent one night at a Coastal Villa in Mirissa, and it was one of my best experiences in Sri Lanka. The villa is situated in a calm and quiet area, yet it is within walking distance to both the town and the beach. The rooms are spacious, and the beds were clean and comfortable. The air conditioner functioned well during the extremely hot weather, and the staff were very helpful. Initially, we did not book the room with a meal included, but the staff were accommodating and provided a variety of delicious Sri Lankan dishes on short notice. I decided to extend my stay, and the villa staff easily fulfilled my request. I recommend Coastal Villa to anyone seeking a place to stay in Mirissa.

Absolutely a best hotel in mirissa. Rooms are spacious and spotless clean & comfortable bed. The location is perfect as it is center of the city and closed to beach and restaurant within 5 minutes. Staff are very helpfull and always willing to attend for guests needs. Swimming pool were amazing and quite in the hotel. They have a restaurant with the view of pool. And all these make you calm and without any doubt recommend this hotel 100% whether you re travel alone or with your family. I really loved my stay.

This place is Absolutely amazing. It opens into A secluded private beach with pristine blue waters, and a natural pool nearby.The house is cosy and very well kept! The caretaker Prasanna is extremely sweet and caring and also makes the best coffee! The house has everything you need for a long stay including kitchen amenities and cutlery. If you are in Mirissa , skip the cookie cutter hotels which is crowded and explore Magnolia house

The hotel felt very safe and our rooms were so comfortable and cleaned every day to a pristine condition. Best of all: the staff - each and every one so friendly, generous and helpful - always happy to assist with any of our queries. The breakfast here is also great! We loved our stay here

Beautiful hotel with a fabulous pool and spa. Food in the hotel was the best we had in Mirissa. Rooms were cleaned every day and the shower was powerful. The hotel is really peaceful with just the sound of lots of different birds. Only a short walk to the main beach and if you walk down the road towards secret beach at dusk you can watch fruit bats flying over..amazing sight!!
