Despite its tranquil ambiance, the villa is conveniently located in the heart of Kelaniya, just a short distance from the iconic Kelaniya Temple. The breakfast we ordered was a delight—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The staff stood out for their friendliness and attentiveness, ensuring our stay was comfortable. However there is a minor drawback. Finding the villa can be challenging as there is no board displaying its name. Adding clear directions or a visible sign board would greatly enhance the overall experience. Overall , Tamarind villa is an excellent retreat for anyone seeking a luxurious and peaceful getaway with a touch of history.

My stay at Kelaniya Heritage was very comfortable and homely. The place was exactly the same as pics shared in booking.com. Priyadarshini the owner of the property is been very friendly from the time I booked the accommodation.She made my stay very comfortable. Also her staff Kanthi and Latha are also very caring. I highly recommend this place.

Great, very new Hotel in great Location towards the attractions of Colombo with very clean rooms in a good size and great pools and many restaurants and bars. Extraordinarily helpful and friendly staff throughout the hotel, from the great welcoming staff in the Lobby, to the Front Desk, to Housekeeping (Sanju in Floor 9 was great!), the Head Sommelier Wellington, the staff in the restaurants and bars, and all Security Guards and other staff throughout the Hotel. While the Hotel itself is great and on 5-Star level, the staff made the experience extraordinary. Staying here at the end of our two week Sri Lanka trip was a perfect last Sri Lanka experience.

An absolutely excellent stay! The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The bed was incredibly cozy, making it hard to leave in the mornings. The hotel restaurant serves amazing food, our only regret is not dining there more often. The location is perfect, just a short walk from supermarkets, restaurants, and shopping malls. If I ever return to Colombo, this will be the only hotel I stay at!

Enjoy just being in the property. Quiet and comfortable. Almost forgot that I was in the busy city of Colombo. Staff were very kind and accommodating my request to keep my luggage till later in the day as my flight was very late at night.

Kelaniya is a quiet suburb of Colombo, located on the Divine Kelani Ganga River. The most significant aspect of Kelaniya is the Maha Raja Vihara, the sacred place where Lord Buddha stayed and delivered sermon on Dharma, and the sacred Kelani Ganga where Lord Buddha took bath. It is a 2,500 year old Stupa and temple with an equally old Bodhi Tree, which create a deep spiritual vibration at the place. Lord Buddha's relics are also preserved in a temple here. It is often visited by some of the most devotional monks and householders here. The campus also hosts a temple dedicated to Lord Vibhishana. There is also a small temple to mark the point where Lord Buddha took bath in the Holy Kelani Ganga river. The river front offers a very peaceful and beautiful scene, for meditation, worship, relaxation and nature love. There is another ancient temple on the other side of the river, which some say is the original 2500 yr old temple, which can be reached by a ferry. Besides this historical & spiritual place, there is nothing much to see around. Kelaniya is otherwise a heavy vehicle maintenance hub. It has all ATMs and supermarkets. But, limited food options. Only a few good restaurants and eateries near the Mahavihara. Sri Vihara is the best for vegetarian foods. Sunisa take away & Balasooriya North Indian are the best for non-veg.

Convenience for super market, transport, restaurant, medical facilities, Taxi service, Banks, bakery, saloons etc Friendly and very supportive staff Homely environment and very cool and quiet place Ideal place to stay away from busy environment in city and just 20 minutes away from Colombo and easy acees to high ways.
