The location is slightly away from town but easily accessible by walking or tuk-tuk. the views from our hotel room were stunning! The property itself has a lot to offer, with two different restaurants and a beautiful garden at the top of the hill where it is situated. The staff were incredibly nice, and the breakfast was exceptional. We opted for a massage at the wellness center, and it was a 10/10! The ladies there are lovely and highly skilled. I highly recommend getting a treatment—it’s the perfect cherry on top

This was the most complete and well done room on our trip to Sri Lanka. The staff was very professional and sweet! They set us up with an amazing guy called Chandi. He showed us around all of Nuwara Eliya for a very fair price. We also ate at a restaurant recommended by the host and that was also very delicious. We will definitely recommend.

The space was simple, brand new, cozy, and beautifully designed, it felt very cozy from the moment we arrived. The food from the in-house restaurant was incredible, full of flavour and made with so much care. What truly stood out was how warmly we were welcomed. Our immediate family had planned this trip after such a long time apart, and Croft Cottage gave us the perfect setting to reconnect. It wasn’t just a holiday, it was a heartfelt experience shared with loved ones. There’s truly no better way to spend quality time together. Highly recommended!

This is a terrific place to stay! A wonderful old colonial tea house bungalow, spread out spaciously on it's own small hill, gated off from the main road (secure and private) on the outskirts of town and surrounded by tea plantations! A warm and relaxed welcome gave promise of an altogether splendid sojourn. We were here in November, during the rainy season so it was quiet and we had the very comfortable accommodation space of two rooms plus a living room all to ourselves. Good wifi in the room and throughout. Showers strong and and hot - welcome in Nuwara Eliya as it can be quite cold here compared to most other areas of Sri Lanka. Food was amazing - certainly some of the best around. Love that all the herbs and spices are carefully cultivated in their on-site garden. The Duty Manager Ragu was very attentive and took care of our every need. He took us on a walk through the tea plantations and introduced us to groups of pickers so we could take photos. We arranged to catch the mountain train to Ella from the nearby Nanu Oya station but didn't want to lug our large heavy cases on and off the train, so with Ragu's help we had them taken onwards by tuk tuk directly to our next stay in Ella. He made sure we were sent photos once they were delivered.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Bulwark. The location is perfect and makes it easy to enjoy the beauty of Nuwara Eliya. The on-site restaurant with bar was excellent – the food was delicious, and I especially enjoyed trying a local cocktail that the barman suggested, which turned out to be amazing. The staff were extremely kind, attentive, and always ready to help, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The rooms were very comfortable, providing a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. Overall, a truly great experience – I would highly recommend Hotel Bulwark to anyone visiting Nuwara Eliya.
